I wrote not long ago on the Welcome to forum area but thought it is better to add here now.
I bought RLMP , RSD, and a few days ago the Menu Maker software. I know that RSD still has updates in the works BUT from what I have seen and read on this forum CoffeeCup Software is GREAT! ( once you know how to use it)

Ok a Newbie question again: If decide not to make my original index page (which has to stay as a .htm page not .html since it was .htm since the 90's) responsive at this time and only a few other pages that to should be changed to responsive first is that ok? or must the index page be done at the same time?

Is asking for help to get started ok? I mostly want to get this on my own BUT I know I would need help to get started.

Thanks aka Ray

You don't have to do your index page up front. RSD will have your first page default as index but you can change that in the app.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Thanks for the reply Eric, I was wondering since the index page has been set as .htm not .html all these years and that is what the search engines find. This updating is going to be a slow work in progress but have to get the site responsive or lose more online business.

You can put redirects on your server.

Hello well I have been trying to learn RLMP and RSD and I do agree once I learn how to use them it will be great! I guess making the first page responsive is the hardest and then it gets easier. I have spent many hours on this forum and also all the tubes with great info on how to do things BUT I am a slow learner I guess. I know that all here are experts in the web design field and wish I had your talent!

Ok so here a few questions: If I get it right we start with the ROW and then in the ROW we can keep the COLUMN one size or Divide it into spans. If I want inside the Column I can add a CONTAINER and in that I can add my Elements?
The Container does not need to used if you don't want??

If I set my GRID to AUTO then no natter what size monitor screen it will be FULL? I was going to only set it to the default of 1200 pix but my monitor goes to 12800 so was not sure which is best?

At the present time is it best to use RLMP first then go to RSD ?
If I want to add the special char ie TM etc that can only be add in the HTML program?

Wish someone was close by that could actually help me get one page started the right way and then I would have a better chance of getting our site back where it should be.

Thanks in advance for all the help you ALL give to us Newbies!

That is correct you do not need to use the container element if you dont want. Quite often i will create a row then drop a subgrid within that row. Doing it this way will give you more control over the content. Instead of it being dragged way out to the edges it can be contained within a subgrid.

I would highly suggest you use RLM to design your layout then move to RSD complete the website design.

Not to sure about the special Char... it would be nice to see a spot to use them. What i usually do is open my char map select the font i want and copy it. Then go to edit your text and paste it in.

Good luck with your design!

Steve, Thank you for taking your time to reply to my questions, I know you must be very busy and I appreciate the input.

Good I will try WITHOUT the container and use the SUBGRID and see if that is better for me. I have been working on getting at least one page done that will be used as my template for all the rest.

I get very confused as far as using auto, span etc. but in time maybe it will sink in!

Yea keep at it! Best advise to do is play around with everything. I made a test website and and just tried each and every option to see what it did.

Steve I hope that I am not bothering you but as far as the "Hero" and "Small Hero" when should they be used if at all? Are they same as adding a Row and then putting Text in the Row?

To put it simple, it is a pre-formatted text element. You can find more information about what exactly it is here http://getbootstrap.com/2.3.2/components.html#typography
