Using SD 5 Build 3448. Using the KitKat template (foundation). The template has a container with a cat picture as the background. I am trying to change that picture. I use the inspector to select the container and go to the Design pane. The original picture is located in the theme folder. I want to change to a local picture in a different folder.

I've tried two different ways.

1) I delete the picture and then click on the New Image button. But when I do that it automatically inserts the original picture.

2) I try to edit the settings for the existing picture by clicking on the little pencil, choose the resource drop down to Local and then select my new picture. However, it still does not show up. If I go back to the inspector and look at the CSS I can see that code has been added for my new picture, but it is below the code for the original picture. I don't know if that makes a difference, but if it does I don't know how to move it as that code is not editable.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try the ID of the container and add your new image with the I'd selected, I think I have that theme somewhere I will take a look see.

if anything has a yellowy dot or line either in the inspector pane or in settings/design etc then that usually means that something has been done with the ID of that element. background images don't show as an image in the inspector pane.

Yep that big picture of a pussy cat is set as a background image using the ID of the container

There is however something not right because it also has an image of a pussycat also in the containers class name (which is the same class name as the other page.

Very strange you need to delete the image from both containers using the ID and class name of the container


THEN delete the ID of the container on either of the pages and give it a new one
with the ID still selected you can then add your image

There is also a problem in that there is no yellow dot or dash indicated on the containers to indicate the use of something.

there are quite a number of strange issues going on with that theme, If I was you if you haven't got too far into it I would ditch it and start again, (mind you mine is a very old one from a while ago.

If you get in touch I may be able to do something to start you off again on the right foot

When you mention starting over do you mean using the same theme or building from scratch? I'm pretty much a neophyte when it comes to building websites. The KitKat them is perfect for my current project- a local nonprofit group that deals with rescuing dogs and cats.
