Hi Kelvin,

Very interesting designs you have.
Some of us are creating sites for sharing good ideas among the users here. We include source files and instructions. It would be very kind of you if you would do the same. :) How's that? :)

Hi Inger,

That sounds great! I'd love to share if anyone is interested, just let me know.

I am also open to collaborating on client projects as well if anyone wants to deliver beautiful products for their clients. I also do all types of stuff including mobile dev. ( http://www.on2interactive.com )

Kind regards,

Kelvin

Hi Kelvin,

As for myself, I'd love to learn how you create the minimal design in RSD. If you could write a tutorial (or a video) and let us have the project file for one or two of your prototypes, that would be very kind.

Wayan and Alter Eagle have made links to their own tutorial pages (see link in their signature), and I plan to do the same with mine (Just a bit 'buzzy' with my bees at the moment). We could include links to more goodies ;)

Hi Kelvin
Did you create this from scratch or begin with one of the themes? I have tried to replace the images in some of the themes but they never look as good or as natural as the ones already in there - they usually don't fit the same either, particularly the background ones that usually access via a URL
Do you do anything to prepare your images?

Hi Tony,

I created all designs from scratch using the Foundation Framework. I prepared/optimized all images in my designs using Photoshop to make sure they are all the same sizes, this can be done using any other image editor as well.

I will be posting a tutorial soon on how to create these kinds of layouts, it's really quite easy to do in RSD.

Here are some new ones I created in the last couple of days, hope you like them.

I like them all, particularly the symmetry of number 8 - just my personal opinion, of course.

I am looking forward to viewing the tutorial on how to create similar using RSD. I have the new V2 RSD but also kept the older version.

When you say about sizing your images in ph-shop, do you mean by pixels, mm, cm? So when you open the pic how do you determine what size to make it? What other prep / optimisation do you do?

Hi Tony,

Sorry for the late response. I always use Pixels when optimizing images using PS. Sizing images depends on how you intend to use them in your project, let's say for example I need a full-screen image, I would size the image to 3000x2000px. Keep in mind I use high-quality images for all my projects. In PS, once I open an image, I go to Image - Image Size and adjust the Width value only to 3000px and hit OK, this will keep the proportions of the image. In PS, I have some preset crop sizes, for example, 3000x2000px, I select my crop tool and crop to the exact size I need.

I can then export using any of the methods in PS, for demo projects where I don't worry too much creating multiple images for different resolutions, I just use the legacy Save for Web in PS which allows you to optimize the image file size before saving the optimized image.

Hope this helps...

I will be teaching this in my RSD course :-)
