If it can be of any help, I have a modal gallery in my sharing site (URL in my signature, click on Galleries, find the one just called 'Image Gallery'). It is inspired by the one Wayan is creating. The images have been linked, so that you can go from one to the next, but you don't have to do that. Just skip all the 'previous' and 'next' stuff. What you need to do, however, if you want to use more than one image, is using unique IDs for the larger images.

the site is still under development so forgive some things that might not look great, my internet is still so slow, I have no idea how well it's loading under normal circumstances

Galen I have on my site a gallery link pg and it has four links on it to other gallery link pgs. They have the small images that are image links that click to be large images of the same image. The four links are the four horizontal top links when opened to full page display. The lower 3 rows of images are links to larger images and the upper row are links to other pages of other galleries. My site is at the bottom of my post so you can see what I am talking about there. I made that gallery into a component. I exported the gallery-four-column.rsdcomponent project file to my desktop and then uploaded it to my S-drive storage. Here is a link to it. I think you have to import it into your SD probably will not just open and run until after you import it. I tried running it and would have had to replace existing file to get it to open and I opted to not do that.
