Am I alone in finding that SD font icons and font icon links no longer to display properly in Firefox please? I have tried both the Developer Edition [69.0b3 (64-bit)] and Firefox Quantum [68.0 (64-bit)] on both pages created in SD4 and in SD 3.

I haven't seen that. But I think there was a mention some time ago about some change in the font icons with the effect that old and new icon numbers didn't correspond. Could that be what you are experiencing?

I don't think so. This pair of annotated screen-shots show the contrast.

I will check that on my system. Are you able to send me the file?

It's a fairly large file of preparatory work for a site. The attached simple file demonstrates the matter on my computer.

I got the same error as you got. Then I made another file in version 3.5, similar to the one you sent me, and opened it in Ffx. There was a 1/100 sec flash of the same error, and then it corrected itself.

I'll be on to CC...

They have researched this at CC, and it seems to be a bug in Ffx's version 68. There is something about it here:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/570 … firefox-68
It seems that such things have happened earlier, and most likely FFx will have it fixed in their next version.

Thanks for that, Inger. My researches had found evidence of the problem in much older versions of Firefox, but hadn't found that recent evidence.

I have now given up on using glyph icons as
(a) this seems to be a recurring problem with Firefox (unless particular settings are made by the browser user);
(b) a lot of people use the Firefox browser;
(c) it is the responsibility of website creators to make their websites friendly for those who visit them, and not the responsibility of the visitors to adjust, update, or change their browsers to make things visible.

I agree with your thinking. But I think there is a certain responsibility lying with the creators of browsers too. ;)
