Facebook and other social links -...
I've got 3 social links on my site: facebook, twitter, and youtube. I don't want to "share" my page on them, I just want to be able to put a link in there directly to our social media outlets. How do I do that so that someone can click on the icon and get directly to my facebook page?
No follow or share, just a link.
Thanks!

Try this.
In the Elements tab of the control panel, add a social icon.
In design tab, keep it as a Generic Icon. If you use the drop down menu to change it to Facebook, it will change options.
Put the link in (without http or https:), and alt text.
In the Source option, change the drop down to "Local Icon," the resource window should open up
Select the Facebook icon in the social icon folder.
Go down to the background section of the control panel, and change the color to blue.
You could also change the source of the icon to one the web that is colored correctly, or download your own Facebook icon. I am not sure if there is a way to properly color the default set of icons that comes with RSD. Seems you are required to manually color them correctly, or create/find your own. ( I don't believe the black background one is in popular use)

Thank you!!! That worked

One more thing. If I want an email icon, where do I enter an email address that it will go to?
I am not an expert with RSD, I am still in the trial and still evaluating.
I would start here for all basic things:
responsive site designer help manual
It will link to this
creating links with responsive site designer
Its a more complete guide than me just explaining how to set an email link. It will answer your question and other questions about links. It even shows you hot to set a link to automatic dial a phone number.

Thank you! I hadn't seen that creating links with RSD article previously. I will bookmark that one!
Except, there's no + sign to add the url of the mailto email. There's a space for a link (on the social icon). I entered it there but it just takes you to the general gmail.com site.

I am not sure what you are trying to do, and where the "+" sign would even be coming from for web page or email url. You have the tools, but I think you are just looking at your goal through the wrong lens.
Each item can only link to one thing. If you want some drop down code, that is something altogether different.
The social icons only go to websites, or special features for that social site. If you want an email link, you will need to create a text link, button link, or a image link.
the "G+" is Google's "Google+" face.book alternative. That is a social icon.
If you just want to have some text, and have it link to an email, do this:
Right click on the text. A drop down menu will appear, click on "edit text" Highlight what you want. The control panel will transform into a basic text editor. At the very top of the control panel under "Inline Elements" (CC should really redign the control panel and brighten these area section heads), the is a "link" option in light grey. There is a square button with a "+" in it with a gray background - click THAT! Then you can edit the exact part of the text you want to link (you delete anything here, its deleted in your text also, I don't like this, but it is what it is). You can add the popup "comment" text (I forget what its called) like "My Email" then add the email url. Click apply, and you are done. You can also make this a phone number, or typical hyperlink. (you need the mailto:, tel: and http: to specifiy what the url is for)

There is also an "Address" element you can add, but I don't like it. I think CC should make the address editing a special feature. For example, have options to directly add links for email, telephone, and map url's. They pretty much have to be done manually. There is a single link at the top than can be edited directly in the design tab/module, but for mobile, I like having telephone links active.
Ok, I figured out what to do. I had 3 social icons (FB, Twitter, and Youtube) and wanted a 4th: mail. So I just put that image into the images folder (instead of social icon folder) and added it. Took a while to get it the same size and correct the spacing next to the other icons. Then I added the mailto link in the href box. Phew. And I just realized I can copy and paste an entire container! Yay...that will save time for all my other pages.
