Is there any way to edit a website directly with Site Designer without having to use FTP?

I have 4 people that will be changing and/or updating the website. I want the ability for anyone to get on the website without having to download and upload to the website.

The only way I can think to do this is to purchase 4 licenses for the software, one for each user then shore the RSD file in a shared location. To make it so they don't have to use FTP you could purchase an S-Drive account to have one click publishing. That being said you may want to contact Coffeecup Support to see if there is a way to set up one SDrive account but have multiple people access it.

What you are looking for seems to be a content management system. Site Designer is not a Content management system.

I'd say that if 4 people (+ yourself = 5?) are to edit the same site, that sounds like a recipe for chaos! But it could work if you all are VERY disciplined. If you could divide the website into 4 parts, kind of like 4 different branches or so, and let your 4 colleagues have the responsibility for one each so that they each have a project file (SD file) for their part only.
Your colleagues would need each a license for SD, and they would have each their project file on their local computer.
There would have to be some setup tying those 4 parts together, like a menu or so, and that would have to be added to each part and be maintained by you if you are the 'boss' of this venture.
An example that you could take a look at, would be in my signature, the 2nd URL, I have a project consisting of 5 parts plus an 'umbrella' tying all together. Each part consists of components made in one of the frameworks that are included in SD plus the HTML Editor. In theory, I could have let 5 people work on one each, and they wouldn't have had to interfere with each other. But the big difference here is that I do them all myself, therefore I know that if chaos arises, I only have myself to blame. ;)

Or you could have the 4 people make all of their changes through you. Inger your component shop is spectacular.

Thanks for that, Greg. Help yourself if there is something you want. :)

i would suggest uploading the rsd file to google drive, drop box or some other file sharing platform and give all participants access to the file. You guys would only be able to edit the file one at a time but it could work. That being said you would still have to manually FTP the website files each time one of you make a change.

Sorry David zero chance of doing this. One biggie is there is no version control so everyone will be over writing other people updates. As Inger pointed out what is seems you need is a CMS. Hope you get sorted ????

I disagree Phil.

As I mentioned if you have a shared RSD file on lets say Dropbox which all 4 people had access too, you could over wright each others changes but only one person can be in the file at a time. Once the person exports it will save it in the Dropbox location and the next person that opens it from that location would be able to pick up where the other left off.

It would require 4 licenses for SD5 and the use of an FTP client.

That's an awful lot of messing about Steve, not quite how version control works with Web. But if it works for you great! I use version control with VS Code and have over a dozen people around the world working on items if I asked them all to download everytime they would tell me where to go.
