Inger,
That's PERFECT!
That little bit of css in the Head did the trick! I set the opacity to 75% to block out the site behind a little better so it would be easier to focus on the pic in the modal window.

This gallery has 30 pics, and I still have to do the last 10 of them. But the first 20 are done. It goes pretty quick but I have to get out the door for work. You can check it out here if you like: https://www.decksbuiltinaday.com/gallery.html#

As for the extra code you mentioned in the Page Manager of your site...... I never even saw that. I didn't copy and paste your site, or edit it for myself and then save it with a new name. I just studied it - each div of it - to see what I needed to do in my site. I had yours open on one monitor and mine open on another monitor and I basically just looked at yours and then created the same code and code layout in mine. But as you'll see I made the styling of my pics and my buttons different.

I bought lightbox software that no one supported and I got my money back. I studied all kinds of open-source stuff and looked at buying more software. I have been trying for MONTHS to have a simple gallery on this website that had modal windows so I could get it done and move on to my nect project. And thanks to YOU it is finally done! Well, almost.... 10 more pics to do.

I can't wait to go through your sharing site some more to see what else I can learn!

I'm new to all of this so working on this gallery also helped me get more familiar with SD3 and web design in general.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Chris do you have your site hosted on S-drive? I'm curious about S-drive and secure. I see yours is secure and am curious as to whether it is on the S-drive or not?

The site looks like it has its own domain, https://www.decksbuiltinaday.com .

Yes I see that it has its own domain, does having its own domain and definitely displaying as secure, absolutely mean that it is not hosted on S-drive?

Chris, I'm glad it worked out for you. The way you are working, looking at an example and doing the same yourself, is a much better way of learning than just copy/paste. I'm doing the same when adapting building blocks from the Bootstrap and Foundation sites or W3schools to SD3. Oftentimes the code I find there are for building 'desktop down', so I need to make them work from the other end, 'mobile up', having to think around a couple of corners, so to speak ;).

The site you are working on looks great! I see you have your own 'Custom Deckworks' site, and a modernisation of that will perhaps be next in line? ;)

Inger,
You are exactly right! My main 'Custom Deckworks' site is next! I wanted to do a couple of smaller things to get myself used to this software before tackling that one. For that one I want to do some fairly big things... make it look really nice and as "up to date" as possible. I just wanted to get the hang of some things so that project wouldn't drag on forever.

Yes on the actually doing the work as opposed to copy & paste! If I'm going to spend ANY time on something I want to have learned and progressed when it's done!

Thank you again SO MUCH for your help! I'm sure I'll need more help on something else before too long and I'll be in here asking for it. :)

GregB,
That site resides on a different host. I don't have any sites hosted on S-drive right now so I don't know anything about how it works. But I probably will have some on S-drive in the future.

Some hosts include a SSL (still super rare though, I think) and on most you have to just buy a certificate. It all depends on the situation. I bought the one for that site.

Your way of thinking is absolutely right! I can tell you that the biggest issue people seem to have is creating a site navigation menu. So it would be a good thing to decide on what you want and then practise, finetuning the various options. I have some menu building blocks in the sharing folder, maybe you can find something you like, that could serve as a start.

I see you were using the Foundation framework for the site you are working with now, and I recommend that you stick to that. The reason for that is simply that it seems preferred among most people in this forum, and therefore you will find more helpers than for any other system.

Good luck anyway!
Ha en riktig god dag!
