Content Divs Creation and Resizing

I have watched the following video https://tutorials.coffeecup.com/site-designer/videos/videos-guide/03.Configuring-the-grid.webm and when I choose to add two columns and it doesn't appear like in the video. Site Designer is so much more complicated than when I purchased it in 2007. You can't just simply drag-n-drop elements around and resize them from their corners, etc. I feel like the learning curve is much longer than the time I have. Even when I watch the basics visual aids they leave out many things and aren't explained as well for the "non-coder".

I have attached a picture of the trends template I'm using and I want to have a two column container below the image header where it says, "Something will go here". I ALSO want to "RESIZE" the containers and I cannot simply drag corners and edges so how do I do it? Is there a 'glossary of terms' somewhere so I can learn this stuff better. I paid for an entire suite of software thinking I could design like I did on the old software version like someone would at wix but it's very difficult and it would be nice if there were as many templates to choose from without having to go to another website and look at templates and then try to reproduce them here.

I am no knocking coffeecup. I used LOVE their software but SOOOoo much has changed in the last 13 years I feel like a total retard trying to learn it.

I would certainly appreciate anyones help. Thank you!

Mark

You can't just simply drag-n-drop elements around

Yes You Can
or you can use the elements tree section and move them around

here is a link to a video about moving stuff around

you can adjust the width by setting the width of anything in the styles panel "layout" tab widths

here is a link to a video for entering the menu links

I don't know . I think I want it to be 50/50, but I just need to be walked through several things at a time. I sent you my info through your site. I would be happy to make donations for walkthroughs here and there to help me sort out some things as I learn. I think that is the best and quickest way to learn and understand.

If I were an expert I would redesign all the videos to help non-coders understand in the way they think.

The problem with videos HOW To etc is that they need constant updating to take into account updates/upgrades etc
I got your info & sent you an email back

I have a belief that I follow
"Do it for someone & they will never learn"
"Teach someone & they may learn"
"Show someone & they will learn'
"Involve someone & they will learn to understand"

(taken from some words from Confucius, not an exact translation, but the meaning is the same)

Video tutorials/how-to etc are a great way to SHOW and INVOLVE
