Can I create a folder structure for...

My current website has folders for each different topic I cover ie. watersports, travel, accommodation etc. With RSD I can only see how to create .html pages in a flat structure. Is there a way of adding folders to organise my pages so that it can match the navigation of my existing website?

Hi Lesley,

To my knowledge I don't believe there is any way to do this within the application itself. I don't think it would be too hard to work with the way it is though. Once you export from RSD just choose the path of the folder on your server you want to upload the page too.

This process can get complicated if you also put you photos and other files in separate folders on your server too. Just curious, is there any particular reason you have this type of work flow?

I designed it like this because the site is fairly large and seemed to make sense to do it that way 7 years ago. However things have moved on and now I guess I can use 301 Redirects to change the structure of the site to put it all in one folder and then I won't have to faff about selecting different paths to upload to. Also unless I go to a flat structure I will have to remake all the internal links which will also be a right pain.

O... by the way... here is my current website http://www.aqua-adicta.co.uk/

and here is my new "under development" RSD website http://aqua-adicta.coffeecup.com/index.html (I only have 5 pages at the moment index, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and prices)

Hi Lesley,

Your site is coming along nicely. One suggestion though... you have not added any breakpoints to your project. I would add a breakpoint about half way through at least and change the column spans of your center images from span 4 to span 6 then when you get to the smallest size change them to span 12.

There are a few other places i would look at too... just shrink your screen down and you will see some areas getting quite squishy. I would just fix the font size or span size to make look better.

Just some thoughts.

Hi Steve
Thanks for the suggestions - I have actually got about 6 breakpoints in the project but I have only implemented changes in the column spans and text sizes in a couple of places and I have done more work on this on some pages than others....it is definitely work in progress!

I am currently having problems with the kayaking page - I have added several breakpoints to try and keep the table at the bottom of the page in order, however I am having problems that the rows and columns get taller at different rates so it looks a bit of a mess at some sizes. Do you have any suggestions? Is there any way to get the column height to follow the row height? http://aqua-adicta.coffeecup.com/kayaking.html

yes to fix those i would apply a Min-Height on those columns at the breakpoint where they become unorganized. Make sure you have class names assigned to each column that are the same.

For example in my footer all my columns would have a class name of footer-column... you can name what ever... that way when you set the min height you make the change on one and it will change for all of them.
