I'm a user just like you, and I hope you'll read my entire post, because my intent here is to be helpful. First is help to get the type of response you want and second is to see what can be done to help regarding the software.

No one wants you to "hold your thoughts and opinions." Your thoughts or opinions could present a new idea that would be helpful to all the Coffeecup users.

The reason you received a direct response without apology is because of the tone of your post. You are frustrated and angry, so you wrote in an aggressive tone. I'm no angel. I've done the same thing, and, in my experience, it doesn't make people want to help. It pushes them away and is sometimes insulting. In addition, it doesn't get the results you really want -- changes that will make your life easier.

I understand being frustrated. Just use the energy from that frustration to focus on finding the specific issues and then state them in a respectful manner. You'll be amazed at how receptive people will become to your ideas and how helpful they will be. (I'm speaking from experience.)

The upgrades that came with RSD2 should have been done to Foundation Framer and Bootstrap Builder also. RSD2 should have stayed RSD framework only (which by the way Coffeegrinder framework is deprecated) and the Foundation and Bootstrap users should not have been forced over to RSD2 giving up easy file project identification by color and extension not to mention the cool interfaces just to get the new features in RSD 2.0. Its now up to the user to code your project type into the file name in order to identify which framework it was created in which is a step backward and I for one will not be opening any FF project or BB project in RSD 2.0 unless I need a "special component" from the library or do a "photo tweak". If I do need one of those things I will open the FF or BS project in RSD 2.0, do the simple import or tweak, save the file as RSD 2.0, and the change the extension to .rff or .rbb, and reopen it in Foundation Framer or Bootstrap Builder and carry on normally like the way it intuitively logically works!
...I dont have the eyesight or the time to read every file name and decide if it contains some code that tells me which framework it is. I dont have the memory to remember that Bootstrap has blue dots and Foundation has purple dots...

If I am understanding correctly, you want RFF and RBB to have the same new features as RSD. This is because

1. You want to be able to use the new features of RSD 2 (component library, photo filters, etc.) in RFF and RBB.
2. You want to be able to quickly see the framework based on icon color and file extension because your eyesight is not as good as you would like it to be.
3. I'm not sure whether you want to use Coffeegrinder or not, but you did state that it is deprecated.

Hang with me here as I work through these points.

WHY GET RID OF COFFEEGRINDER
Coffeegrinder is deprecated, and it makes sense. Foundation and Bootstrap are the two major frameworks. There are many others (Skeleton, Boilerplate, Kickstart, Montage, Sproutcore, Zebra, and others), but none have gained and held the market like Foundation and Bootstrap. For Coffeecup to continue to develop Coffeegrinder is like a local coffeeshop with its own special coffee blend trying to take on not only the other coffeeshops but also Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts coffee in the market. It's a huge amount of work and requires deep pockets to pay for advertising to convince drinkers of all the other coffees that their brew is better.

Instead, Coffeecup let go of Coffeegrinder and:

1. By creating RBB and RFF, they took the two most-used frameworks and made them extremely easy to use.
2. They made each of them stand-alone (RFF and RBB) so if a person prefers to work in just one framework, they only buy the product that fits them.
3. For someone (like me) who works in both frameworks, they combined them into RSD so that one interface can work with both frameworks.
4. Kept backward compatibility for Coffeegrinder in RSD so that previous projects won't have to be redone in a different framework any time soon.

MAKING IT WORK IN YOUR SITUATION
Stay with me as I work through each of your thoughts. I'm breaking them into individual points so that if I misunderstood at any point, we can address that point.

Recognizing the Framework by Extension and Icon
Because RSD handles both Foundation and Bootstrap, you don't have to differentiate which framework is used before you open the program. The issue is instantly knowing the framework after you open RSD.

Being Able to Know the Framework Instantly
You need to be able to know which framework you are using at any time while using RSD. Right now, in RSD the only way to quickly see the framework is the color of the dots and the small mention of the framework on the layout pane. That's where your frustration lies and is why you want a color difference -- and that makes sense.

I know that Coffeecup listens. A few years ago, I made a simple suggestion, and they added it to the program and released it very soon afterward. Not all requests are simple, but I'd make this a request in the "Suggestions for RSD" post. Ask that Coffeecup make an addition to the RSD interface and make it easy to see the framework being used no matter what pane is active. You can even make suggestions about how it might be done. My first thought is they could add the framework name and version above the pane icons with the background color of the notation being the frame work color -- blue or purple.

IN CASE YOU PREFER TO WORK IN RFF OR RBB
It might be that you prefer to work in either RFF or RBB and want the new features in them. Though I haven't heard, I'm expecting to see Coffeecup add them. Be patient though. From a behind-the-scenes programming perspective, it takes quite a bit of work to add new features. It makes sense that Coffeecup would build them into RSD first and then add them to RFF and RBB afterward. RSD is the flagship product and many users (like me) want exactly what it offers. However, just give them some time. It just makes sense that Coffeecup will roll out those updates to RFF and RBB too.

Brian,

One of the best things Coffeecup has is the great capacity of help from the components of the forum, in fact applause for everyone, since the explanations and dissertations are splendid, many times better than the very help of CC.
Congratulations to you, Brian and to all the experts who help us every day.
Do not just ask, you have to read the questions and answers, many times your doubts have already been explained.

Carlos
