So... edge and ie do not support blended backgrounds... Does anyone have a good fall back snippet or work around so that one can use it for other browsers and it would still look OK should someone surf to a site using edge or ie?

I'll take a closer look at it...not sure I can make it work without some help...but I'll try!

well...I checked that one out...I'm not using colors, but 2 photos...can someone "transpose" this to, for example,...when Edge or IE are used one of the 2 pictures goes away...There disabling the blend? I am not able to come up with a solution myself.
