Hi Bainn,

First of all, VERY nice site! I have been trying to figure out how you did the menu on this site: http://championcontainersnz.com You mention that you used https://mobirise.com/responsive-menu/ to create it. I have downloaded the program but can't figure out how you got it in RSD. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks! :)

Hi guys and thank you for the nice feedback.

Clean site - I haven't tried the software yet but would like to.

You have to try this software Byron. It's brilliant. I haven't been using it very long (recent CoffeeCup convert) and the Champion Containers website was my first attempt at using it. See what it's like to use here: http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … tutorials/

Thanks again Spoonfrog for your nice words. That's the great thing about our art - people get to see and interact with it.

Regarding the menu - it looks like the software has changed a lot since I last downloaded and used it. As I said in the other post, I won't be using it in future though, as you'd be amazed at what you can achieve in RSD (and some custom css)

Typically these third-party menu solutions provide css (place link to external file in the header of the page) and html which you can code directly into RSD using a html element. Save any css provided by the program into RSD (add it to your resources).

My apologies for the ambiguity. I'm self-taught (what I would have given to know someone who I could talk to for help). All I can recommend is watching a lot of tutorial vids online and reading Stack Overflow (a lot).

Have a blessed day!

Thanks Bainn!

I was able to get the menu added to my page, BUT I am having alignment issues with the rest of the page. I can't figure out what is causing it. Can anyone see why?

I see that the main content is left aligned. Check if the grid, row(s) or anything inside them (which should be centered) is left aligned. Also, check if there is a difference in the width between the menu and the rest of the site. It would be easier to spot what is wrong by checking the project file.

Good suggestions Inger. When something like this happens, I usually find myself playing around with the 'typograohy' alignment of the column and 'position' settings.

Here's what I'm currently working on... http://championcontainersnz.com/temp/index
Note: This is a major work in progress (none of the links work) and it will be changed daily. Currently optimised for desktop only.

I haven't used any third-party menu - it's all RSD and custom css and JQuery. Check out the page source and feel free to dissect, manipulate and use the code. You might find some good animation for your tiles and text display.

Have fun!

PS - don't forget to use the 'transitions' feature on any elements you want to automatically animate on hover.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback! I am thinking it is some sort of code conflict because the 'stuff' below the nav bar is going under it and it shouldn't be. The left alignment is also being caused by the menu, somehow. If you look at the right of the site, there is a 20 pixel border or gap and the page isn't flush.

I tried uploading my project file, but it doesn't seem to let me upload it, so I uploaded it to my server. Here is the link:

So far I haven't been able to find out why the content is left aligned. I tried removing the row with the menu, but it didn't change anything.

But the reason why part of the top of the row with the picture background disappears up behind the menu is that the menu has a fixed position, and thereby it comes 'out of flow'. If you give the row below an ample top margin, it will come down a bit and the text will be readable. I tried 40px, and that seems ok (I'm on a laptop, so don't know about desktop view).

I won't be home at my desktop machine until Saturday, but if necessary, I can play a bit more with it.

I think it has to do with the code for the menu that is in the header. I bet if we remove the header codes and menu, the site will go back to being center aligned. I am going to try it and see because I had the site all properly lined up until I put the menu in there.
