What I think is, that they send those news mails to everyone who is subscribing to them, and that they don't have any filter to separate the present owners of an app from those who are not owners. I can imagine, that if they mention more than one product in a news mail, such a filtering system would most likely run hot and melt down. ;)

Well whatever 1/ the email was confusing initially to say the least.
2/ as Mark says "Poorly written" too boot
2/ Not so difficult to filter things like that really. I for one have now unsubscribed, as I got tired of getting such emails from them, (supposed to be subscribed to receive newsletters to boot), but only get news when it's an update or upgrade)

No worries anyway, just wait & see for the release announcement, which will appear on the forum anyway

Yes, it was not well written, I agree. I also thought it was something other than it turned out to be. And sure, we'll find out when there is a new release, some way or other. ;)

What confuses me is I got an email same as Inger, my immediate thought was that it might be an UPDATE, then on reflection, further reading I realized it wasn't so then my thoughts were, WHY are they sending me stuff about an app I already have with them. confusing !!! maybe Ray has also been confused too & the mail was the one that many people got

Wayan - Inger
Confused  with a Capital C read the email a few times and agree with what you both have said. Looked at what it has and for what I read it has all that my 3.5 has in it, so even though it shows 4.0 coming (who can say when) unless it really has much more to offer will stay using 3.5 - was not to long ago I was using 1.5 before jumping in to 3.5 which I could not have done without ALL your help and patience! Thank you!

Hello all, and thanks for this lively discussion here :D

1) the official CoffeeCup Software Inc. upgrade policy for Site Designer.......

When you buy Site Designer, you will have ONE YEAR of free upgrades.

So if you purchase Site Designer 3.0 on June 1st, 2018 -- you will be entitled to FREE upgrades until June 1st, 2019 (just to keep things simple). If Site Designer 4.0 is released on May 30th, 2019 - you will be entitled to download your upgrade until the end of June 1st, 2019 - for FREE

Now, if you downloaded SD 4.0 on June 1st, 2019 and we update the build on June 25th, 2019 -- you would have to purchase one more year of free upgrades for $69 to be able to download it.

If you have purchased the Responsive Pack - that will work the same. Upgrade price for the entire pack will be $129, just Site Designer will be $69

2) Is it worth it to purchase another year of free upgrades ..... ? You betcha, although I did sense some "subtle" scepticism about upgrading, you have my word that it will be worth it. If you are not happy with the new stuff we are doing, I will refund you your $69 - deal ?

We are working SUPER hard on improving the workflow of the program. Backwards compatibility 100% guaranteed. We are working on an integration with codepen.io. This means that you can export one element, one container with elements, or an entire page and you can edit that immediately in codepen.io for the manual code lovers out there. I am a big fan of this feature because I think it will be great for educational purposes and debugging. Then we are working on some serious UI improvements, and changes for resources, templates and components handling (&sharing) are in the making. We will have a code editor dialog (some time in the near future), we are planning a better device mode preview and a breakpoints manager (what's that?). In addition, we will listen to our customers and continue adding little tweaks to make life in Web Development more easy whilst using Site Designer.

3) I hope this helps explain everyone that we are super serious about making Site Designer one of the most valued Web Development tools available. The Team and I appreciate your loyalty and support throughout all these years, rest assured that your investment in our software in time and money will be protected.

have a great day y'all :-)

yours truly,

Hans Top

Did it happen to say what new features will be arriving with v4? I get the promotional emails from CC but I did not receive an email regarding v4 coming soon.
