I probably would not have even posted to this thread except I happened to upload one of my sites to the wrong directory (thanks to the server settings) and I was reall kinda miffed about it .:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: (you can see I was really mad)
Its not that it required alot of work to fix, I just didn't think I should have to fix it at all. And since the issue couldn't have been my fault it had to be the software's fault
It's all good, I did have to clear out the directory and re-upload my entire site to get it back to normal, but it only took a few minutes :)

At least we have that quick fix beauty of Coffeecup software Jefff lol. Don't feel bad, I've had to redo almost everything as far as cleaning up my server(s) and reuploading all my sites and redoing almost all the graphic uploads because the morons that host our reseller account don't know how to migrate servers to another location lol. Trust me it could have been way worse!

Hi All,

I hope this glitch is going to be fixed in the pro version because this morning, I found out that several orders for one of our clients were PAID into another client's paypal account because the server/paypal e-mail address reverts back to the previously worked on cart!! Now I have two clients madder than wet hens with MEEEE this morning and when the first client asked what happened, I had no idea what they were even talking about UNTIL I checked all the settings and then realized that the server settings and the paypal e-mail account addresses do not stay with each unique shopping cart - OUCH!!!

Can't wait for the Pro version!!

Thanks for the clarification Bonnie. Am sure that not every person planning multiple shops would be aware of that potential scenario.

The pro version will ultimately be more suitable for serious business use and those planning to develop sites for others. Its extended feature set will appeal to a lot more of your prospective future clients.

The server settings don't bother me near as much as the payment options.

I almost had the same thing happen that Bonnie is talking about. Different shops, going to different paypal and google payment accounts. Doing updates on each of the them and not realizing that the payment options that I had in one was written over by the other! I was lucky, I found it before anyone else did!

I agree, just another opinion here, but it's very, very annoying to have to change all the server AND payment AND theme info every time I log onto a shop. It would save users a lot of time if that info just stayed with each shop. Is there really no other way to do this?

I don't like the idea of having to upgrade to "Pro" just to have this one feature that could be added to an upgrade.

It sounds like everyone posting agrees. Not one person thinks it should stay the same way or not be included in the basic version of shopping cart creator.

thanks

This is a MUST FIX for the pro version in order to be a pro version. No two ways about it. Until that happens, it's a mom and pop version. :D

Seriously, this can not happen to site designers. I can imagine the legal trouble that might be involved when someone gets poopy. And poopy rolls down hill. :P

Don't worry, the 'Pro' version does has that ability ;)

Not if you flatten it with your foot first. :)

Seriously though, I doubt if the current version of Cart Creator was ever envisaged as being a solution for serious business use. It was ok for someone to sell a few things themselves, perhaps as an alternative to eBay but has lacked the usability for any serious deployment. With the development of the designer software the product has moved forward in the looks department but still lacks the decent engine to propel it forward. The pro version will redress that balance and will give a scalable solution for many small enterprises.

The pro version will be due for release in the very near future. Scott and the team have listened to the current users and taken on board the feedback to help evolve the new product. Some of those new featues will by commercial consideration be exclusive to the pro version, but I'm sure that the team will take the opportunity to enhance and refine some elements of the current version too, once the pro version has been showcased.

I know, I'm just being my usuall smart ars self. :D I always praise and critique equally, without bias, and without shame.

Overall, I think Coffeecup has delivered one kick butt program with Shopping Cart Creator teamed up with the Designer. Very intuitive and user friendly. I feel it is good the way it is now for a single user if the shipping and tax shortcomings are addressed.

The pro version should address the multi-shop issue. I for one have no problem upgrading as it will still be the best bang for the buck on the market when ease of use, recurring fees or web programming knowledge is taken into account.

Thanks CoffeeCup!
