I just uploaded my ALMOST finished shopping cart.

I uploaded it to: www.foodtoolz.com/public_html

But, in order to see it, I have to use the url: foodtoolz.com/shop/index.php

Is there a way that I can use just foodtoolz.com?

I would really rather have the short url than the long.

Hiya Gerry,

The only way to do that is to upload it directly to the public_html directory. Check your settings and I'm betting you will see that it's got a /shop in the directory location and that's why it's uploading to the /shop location of your site.

You can however also just use:
foodtoolz.com/shop

to access your site, don't need to add the index.php to the end at all.

Anyways, find that setting and remove the /shop from that spot and reupload. I would suggest deleting the shop directory from your server prior to doing this though so you don't have it duplicated and using up all that extra space.

Hi Jo Ann,

OK There was a folder with the name shop.

I deleted it.

Checked the server settings in SCC

Made sure the remote folder was /public_html

Re-published

And it worked.

Great! Right?

Nope.

I mean, you gave me the right info, but now I have found something that I screwed up.

When I started building the site, I opened a new page and named it Food Toolz.

Later, I changed the Home page name to Contact.

Anyway, when I open the site, it opens with the contact page.

So, how can I get that corrected so it will open on the right page?

I hope what I just wrote makes sense.

yeah I agree with Eric as it's now loading at the http://www.foodtoolz.com/public_html/ but doesn't load for me with just the foodtoolz.com which it should.

I am not sure if I follow you on the pages issue so I'll see if I can explain what I think you mean and if what I think is correct you may need to redo those 2 pages. If I'm understanding you correctly, you didn't realized that the original page it had open that said Shop Home, is/was actually the home page of the shop so you created a new page and made that the home page and later renamed the original Shop Home page to Contact page and now that's got the contact info on it and the page that you setup as the home page isn't really the home page it should be an extra page (most likely should swap it for the contact page). Am I understanding that correctly?

If I am... I hate to say it but I'm pretty sure you'll need to redo them both. I'm not sure how many pages you have on your site in your shop right now, but if you have another one you can make it would make it easier as you can then just copy and paste the info for the contact page onto that page.
AFTER you have the contact page recreated on a new page, then copy the home page info that you have on the other page to the original Shop Home page (your current contact page).

You may need to alter a few things here and there, but I don't think you should need to do much other than the copy and paste.

If you already have 5 pages created (which is the limit in the program), then unfortunately you'll need to recreate one of those pages as you won't have a blank page you can copy to to swap them around.

Another thing you might try is copying the content of one of the pages to the bottom of the other page and then copying the top of that page to the other page..... basically I'm going to get you confused lol. You just need to copy and paste from one to the other without overwriting and losing it till it's swapped.

Phew, I think I confused myself even! lol
