It really is sounding like a timing out problem of some sort. I would suggest trying a SFTP over SSH connection if your host provides that capability. Last year I was having similar problems and switching the connection type cleared the problem completely and have had no problems uploading the store since. ;)

As they say tho, your mileage may differ. Good luck with it...

I am also facing this exact same problem... is there any way to upload my store using another FTP instead of the BUILT IN from SCC?

Hiya Ricardo,

Have you contacted Support at all to see if they can help you figure out what is wrong? If not, I would highly suggest you do that first before attempting to upload the store manually, especially if at some point you intend to use the Pro version at all as that version will require you to use the built in ftp if you need to use the new inventory features at all.

Hi Ricardo,

I had the same problem, because I have a pretty large .gif file at the top of my shops, so I used the Export Shop for Upload in the File menu, and then used CoffeeCup Free FTP to upload.

Works like a charm that way.

Just keep in mind guys, that if you move up to the SCC Pro after it's released, that you won't be able to use some of the features this way. Might want to attempt to figure out just what's stopping you from downloading and get that corrected. Anything to do with inventory tracking with the new version will not work using external uploading.

Are you saying the Pro version will not have the ability to export for external FTP upload?
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

It will have the ability yes, but you won't be able to utilize the inventory tracking with it that way. It's not possible, the tracking is done through the upload and syncing of the cart program and if you are unable to do that there's no way to use that part of the program. You can still upload externally, just not with the ability to use that feature. I don't know if any other features rely on internal uploading, I only know that one does.

Hi Jo Ann,

Since you're disclosing features anyway, I assume that the Pro version will be able to upload just the inventory. One of the things that bugs me the most is that you have to load up the whole shop layout, if you want to make a change to an item.

By the way, I had a look at your jewellery shop, and even though I know that there is a time difference between Europe and the US, I didn't think it was so big. According to your shop you are still in August. At least your summer sale is still on, even though it should have ended August 31.

haha you're right magic, I've been so busy around home that I haven't had time to do much on my shop this past few weeks and I really need to get in gear lol.

Not really disclosing anything that hasn't already been mentioned which the inventory features have been mentioned quite a bit already. As for the uploading, it will be the same as it is now, it just syncs with your server also to update the inventory info for it is all. Right now it doesn't upload the whole site every time you make a change, it really does only update the changes, it just takes a while to do it is all :)

I am new to a lot of this WYSIWYG stuff. New to everything past the first few versions of HTML, in fact. some of it is really neat, other stuff extremely limiting.

I'm trying to help a fella get an online store running. Demoed the CCup stuff, bought part, plan to buy part 2 ( Cart Designer / Cart Creator ). Got a decent enough looking online store up and running in it's infant form on my pc, now I want to upload that to his site, and give folks some buttons to play with. I've labelled the few things in the store as .01 or not for sale, etc.

His site is a retarded mess of GoDaddy fwded to WildWest forwarded to AT&T by SWBYPS, and is running (I Think) Netopia's online only editor. Durned thing gives a problem uploading ANYthing that isn't a gif, jpeg, etc. picture file. They went a step FARTHER and gave him obtusely long naming.
Grrrr on SWBYPS and AT&T :/ !

I think his server (with the name changed) goes like this:
http://www.joessite.net/joessitewithabu … eonatt.com - at least, I can get BitKinex to hit it and transfer stuff normal stuff back and forth. But, it will not upload the CCup files. Not on port 80, not at all. Just errors out halfway through.

So, I dropped the http:// bit, and just used joessite.net/joessitewithabunchextra.liveonatt.com and it looks like CoffeCup might've managed to push the files to the server.

NOW WHAT? I plan on renaming one of the buttons on his nav links, to point to the head end of the online store, and run the pages there.

Am I thinking right? What can I do to de-obfuscate this a bit!

Thanks for breaking a newbie in nicely! I do like the CC stuff.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
