Taxes not working for home state

I tried following the instructions, but when testing, found that taxes are still not being charged for orders shipping to my home state.

We are in Iowa, and do not ship internationally. So I made Iowa 6% and International (and all other states) 0%.

I'll attach an image of my dialog box.

Help's always appreciated! :-)

Thanks,

Toni

You say "when testing"... Is that live on the web? or just local machine testing?

You can do a 'limited' testing locally. Any testing having to do with calculations and prices (I believe) must be done on a "live" site.

On the live site...I published and placed an order myself (and confirmed that it went through PayPal), but it just charged me the exact amount of the item even though I chose Iowa for the location (and Iowa's tax rate is supposed to be set for 6%).

For the product in question, did you also assign the appropriate tax category as well?

I think that's it...the instructions online just say how to set up the taxes. It might be helpful for us newbies on that instructional page at http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … ing-taxes/ to put a final line in saying, "Now remember to go back to the item descriptions in your cart and assign a tax category to each in the 'Optional Charges' section."

I haven't tested it yet, but suspect that this is the problem.

Thanks!
