Taxes in Shopping Cart not showing...

I have read all the posts related to sales tax, and a couple have actually come close to my problem, but no one has nailed it. I have my cart set up and have uploaded it. I have only a single item and it is set for sales tax in my home state, but none in all other states. Everything about the cart works fine on the site other than the sales tax. There is a drop down for the sales tax, showing my home state and all others. But the tax rate appears as 0 for all states including my home state. I have tried every combination of settings I can think of with no resolution. I have assigned my item to the category merchandise and all settings seem to be correct, as near as I can tell. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

As a matter of fact, I just made a discovery. The shopping cart works perfectly in Internet Explorer. The problem only occurs when using Firefox (which I normally use). If there is a problem with browser differences for me, then there likely will be for others as well. This is not good. Any thoughts would be appreciated. By the way Scott, I have looked at the link you mentioned.

Which version of the software are you using? For the individual product, did you assign it to a tax category or did you leave it set to "None"?

No, I assigned it to Merchandise. I just updated the shopping cart software before I started this thread. I am also running the latest version of Firefox. As stated, it works great in IE, only Firefox has the problem.

I have done some more checking. The cart works fine with Safari, and I just checked it on my wife's computer with Firefox and it worked properly there as well. It would appear that there is something on my computer, causing the problem. The drop down box for the state is present, but no matter what my selection is, the tax stays at 0. Rather strange to say the least.

I have done this, but must have missed something. I cleared the history, cache, cookies, etc. from Firefox and restarted it. All is well now. There must have been something in the cache being reloaded, even though I was refreshing the page and clearing my data. But as I said, all is well now. Sorry for wasting your time.

If it works on other systems but not yours, then it probably has something to do with your system. Possibly your browser is blocking cookies or JavaScripts.

I just tried it here for the state of Illinois and it applied the proper tax for me.
