You guys are right on track !!
One thing I noticed tonight
When you copy a product let's say you paste 9 so ten total
These ten products are going to use the same image and different titles
When you upload the software creates 9 new images for a total of 10 of the same image
The problem I see here is server space and load times
I know this not a easy one but something to think about in future builds
for the inventory I forsee a nice big Synchronize button

bump for this question, SKU coming?
This is one of the best ecommerce tools out there. Often keeping things simple is best. However it would be FANTASTIC if you could:
Design your own template / add your own background
Change Font/Colours to integrate with your existing sites
allow discounting on multiple purchases
ability to add pages like (Contact | blog | News etc) or at least links back to your website to improve integration.
when you get down to the level of purchasing the product it would be good to have the facility to show related products (e.g. Amazon - "people who bought this product also were interested in this")
I understand the new release is now ready for testing - could you please list here or redirect me to a full listing of all the new/updated features
Thanks

Still would like coupons...
I should like to see the ability to handle serial numbers for downloadable software.
It's a kind of magic!

I would like a feature where customers can enter a sales person name. We have a small sales team and we are creating this site as an additional sales tool, but we want to be able to track sales commissions.
Its more like a small comment section on the shopping cart check out form before they submit payment to paypal. The comment would be passed on to the invoice so we can credit the appropriate salesman.
I was thinking as a work around I would just create a product for each salesman with a zero dollar amount and at least it will show up on the shopping cart invoice.

The only practical way to do that at the moment Jose, is to have a list of the sales people's names in one of the option drop downs.
Trouble with any input from customers, is ensuring that they actually put something in a text box, or select the correct name from a dropdown.
Another option is to have a shop for each salesperson as a subdomain of the main existing shop. For example www . yourshop.com/john, www . yourshop.com/peter etc. You would probably need to add an identifier to each product title though along the line of Product one (j), Product seven (p) etc so you know which sub site the order had come from. Your payment would automatically go the the main site, so there wouldn't be any problems at all with the payment processing side of things. As cart creator doesn't need any mysql databases, you could literally assign hundreds of sub shops to your main web site.

Yeah what Will says should work well, another option would be to ask them to please put the name of the sales person in the comment box in Paypal which shows up at payment processing.
Once again to reiterate what Will said though, the hard part is to make sure they actually do fill something in or choose someone in the drop down list.
One way to make sure that there is a choice and that you will know if they chose that person or not would be to make th first choice of the dropdown list of salemen be a generic choice such as "None" or "No Salesman Chosen" or something that will be obvious to them that what's in that box doesn't look right and gets there attention to change it if needed. From what I've seen whatever the first choice is, will be what is shown as the choice on your order from them and unless you put something generic in there it will default to someone's name which may not always be correct if the customer didn't actually choose it.
Drop down list should work well though I think also since you can put an unlimited number of choices in an Option it should accommodate all your salesmen.

The options are in dire need of having a validating field, with the default being along the lines of 'please choose'. That feature works well with other cart software as it forces the user to make a definitive selection. Unless the user makes a selection other than the default one, an error message comes up with please select '....'. The shipping dropdowns also need this validation to make the user purposefully choose a location.
At the moment, it is possible for a wrong option item (default) to be sent the far side of the world, which isn't good news for anybody. Likewise unless someone selects a shipping option other than the default, that can mean someone's orders getting delayed and having to invoice them for extra postage. Neither are good scenarios for building good customer relations.
This lack of validation will become more of an issue with the pro version, where some of those options can be price related. It also presents a problem for shop owners where items are made to order.

I'll second that one!
Hey, it's nearly December... what else is just around the corner other than Christmas?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
