First tiem using Shopping cart and have got to the publish stage and receiving error message - An eror uploading has occured.

When it tries to publish i get messages that its generating the shop, then when it changes to sycronising it does the following

Testing connection ..
Calculating syncronisation .

Checking dir: /public_html/cart
An error while uploading: ccdata
Finished uploading, Please try again
An error while uploading: data
Finished uploading, Please try again

I have tried taking out the /public_html so it goes to my root folder but get exactly the same error ? I can ftp using my other Coffeecup Apps and also with WS_FTP Pro that i use so can confirm my connection details are correct.

Many thanks.

Hi Mike,

It looks like a permission issue, have you checked with your ISP, also ask them to let you know the correct URL to upload to.

Cheers

Thanks Dan, will give my ISP a call. It is hosted by Webfusion.

In shop settings I have selected 'other' and it automatically creates the path /public_html/shop/ i then connected to my server via WS_FTP Pro to see if publishing the shop was actually doing anything and i can see it does actually create a new directory in public_html called shop. So i know its connecting fine. It just won't upload the files.

Is it possible to grab all the required files using WS_FTP Pro and upload them that way or does it need to be published through Shopping Cart ?

Thanks.

Mike,

No you can export the shop files under the File menu and upload them manualy if you want to, in fact thats how i do mine, as ours is running on a server in our office.

The folder it exports to is named what ever you call your shop, in the settings.

just copy all the files within this folder in to the folder on your webserver that you want to store your shop files in and then create a link to it from your main site. It the shopping cart is the only thing on your site then just copy it up to the root of your web server.

Let me know how you get on

Cheers

All sorted. I used Export and uploaded via WS_FTP and all works fine. Shame there isn't a easy way to add a few extra pages like 'about us' etc but looking through the forum i can see others are requesting this also so guess it may be available is further releases. For now i will just have to make my other pages look like the theme i have used in coffeecup.

Many thanks for your time on this Dan, much appreciated.
