Remote Folder

I have 2 shopping carts and both of them I have to make sure of the Remote folder before publishing because both of them show the remote folder as

/shop/

I change it to-- /public_html/store and then publish but when I come back later to make another change then I must remember to go back into the Shop settings and change the remote folder again.

Why doesn't it just stay at what I imput -- it always reverts back to the- /shop/

Is this just how the program is wired? Or how can I get it to stay the same all the time so I don't have to remember to change it each time I want to publish new changes.

Save each shop as a different name. This way they will retain your settings.:)

Eric just checking, we are in SCC basic , one shop set up

If the two shops have different payment addresses those will need changing every time, is this question related to the same problem ???

You can make as many shops as you want with basic or pro. Change the ftp settings to publish to a different folder. /shop, /store. /jewelery. When you change the remote folder you also need to save each shop under a different name in SCC. Now the Paypal redirect may be a problem, I don't have multiple shops that I run so I can't check on the redirect back to the correct shop. You might have to setup two Paypal accounts.:(

Its OK if its (ie) my two shops with the same paypal account
It fails when its a developer writing two shops for 2 clients with 2 paypal accounts
The return works goes back to the cart, but do you remember in the early days of SCC when A developer had one of his clients paypal payments going to another clients paypal account.
SCCB hangs onto the paypal settings (puts it into every shop)
SCCP each new shop has a blank payment gateway

Ok -- a little more explanation.

One shop is /public_html/store

2nd shop is /public_html/wholesale

Before I had set up the 2nd shop the first shop always would change the server settings back to /shop/ .

I can work on the shop within SCC (add items or whatever I need to do) and change the server to the correct /public_html/store --- but if I close down the program (whether I have uploaded or not) when I come back and open up the software the server will say /shop/

It just never holds what I imput once I leave the software. I always must remember to change the server to the correct wording every time I get ready to upload.

Is this the way the software is suppose to work??

Hiya Prairie.

I believe this is because you're working with SCC and not SCC Pro. SCC is basically setup as a 1 shop setup so you will always have to do what you're doing to maintain your multiple shops.

If you need to have multiple shops and have it save each of the settings (and keep in mind this means any payment processing etc. also) then you need to work with the Pro version instead. Hope that helps :)

JoAnn, Don't believe that is my problem. Before I had the two shops set up---- I had just the one set up and the remote folder setting would always revert back to the /shop/ and never retain the /public_html/store

Maybe I best put in a support ticket because it started when I had problems uploading my store and Scott helped me out. Perhaps it had something to do with what he helped me with because that is when it started. Just never bugged me that much until now when I have 2 stores and I really have to think and remember each time to put the correct remote folder in each time.

Hiya Prairie,

Yeah I would open a ticket if it was doing it with only 1 shop in there, but I don't think that's going to fix it with 2 shops. I'm pretty sure once you have the original issue fixed, it's going to be set at whatever the last settings were that you worked with and you'll always need to swap them around since it's only built to handle 1 shop.

Now being with only 1 shop it should always retain your last settings so that part is definitely not right. Let us know what they tell you for future users if you would please :)

Right from the software page.;)
Buy it once, then make as many stores as you want.
(That’s right, no limits on the number of stores you can make or maintain)

Second line of comparison between standard and pro.
