Question on logo (banner) image...

I tried inserting my banner which is actually about 12" x1 .7" into my store.

When I saved and viewed the store, the banner was a tiny image at the top left of the banner....even hard to read :(.

Is there any way to overcome this?

Thanks,
Pete (cart creator newbee)

Can you post a link to the site/page in question?

Is it possible that you inadvertently used pixels? instead of inches without any conversion between the two?

Pete,
It took me a lot of time and trial and error to figure out how to make the header (banner) appear the way I wanted it to. Anyway, you will need to use the HTML Editor and an FTP program to download, modify, and upload a couple of php pages and the default css file. This has to be done AFTER you have published your store to your hosting server.

Let's start here....
First, you should learn how size your graphics/photos using pixels instead of inches. You said your banner image is 12" wide. This is too wide. For the shopping cart banner, the image cannot be more than 960 pixels (10") wide.
And, basically speaking, the height is rarely a problem so you don't have to worry about that.

Next....
You can check out my shop (which I'm still adding products to) and hope to open later this month. http://bottomdollarcomputing.com/
I have also added a couple more pages and modified the footer to my satisfaction. While your at it, you can email me using this address:
owner@bottomdollarcomputing.com

I am willing to help you with the various steps needed to make your store look the way you want it.

Darlene - thanks for the response. I have started on my shopping cart; adding a few items and uploaded to my host. Starting to look good, but a lot of 'tweaking' yet to do....

Can you tell me the names of the php pages and the default css file I need to download and generally what to do to them. I have photoshop and some other graphic programs to resize my banner as you explained.

Thanks again for your help.

Pete,

The stylesheet file is named "default.css" and is located in the CSS folder. The other file is named "data.php" and is located in the CCDATA/DATA folder.

If you send me a blank email so I can get your address, I will send you a copy of the css file that I made showing you the steps needed to change it. I will do the same thing with the data.php file after you tell me you are ready for it.

Darlene
