This may be an unfair question, but it's one I need answered so I know which direction I'm going to be taking here. Do I wait for the pro version or start looking for something that will do what I want.
I have a website all put together and ready to go. I've been waiting for the release of the shopping cart to put it online only to find that the current version lacks several features that I REALLY need.
Tax
Inventory Control
Ship list generation
What I really want is the ability to have an individual category of the shopping cart open in a scrollable window of an already designed and ready to go web page that I spent a great deal of time on. After buying the entire suite of programs from CoffeeCup for just this purpose I'm not willing to just throw all that away and have it replaced with something I can only use in it's place instead of as an addition/enhancement to what I've already done.
I've seen many posts that a pro version is going to be coming out so my question is will it meet my needs or will it just be new features added to the current program?
If so then some ideas/suggestions for you:
On the top of my wish list of added features would be the ability to add code into every item listed that would allow me to have a pop up window with additional pictures, information, instructions or details.
Second would be the ability to have one database that I can have every bit of data I could ever need on the various types of inventory I'll carry and then be able to pick and choose which fields an individual item will use.
As an example if I have 50 fields that I can name and read/write and name them 15 numeric, 15 alpha_numeric, 10 boolean, 10 date/time or something like that, then the list below gives an idea of what I'm looking for
Field Number Field Name Field Type
-------------------------------------------
1 Stock_quantity numeric
2 Quantity numeric
41 In_stock boolean
21 Item_name alpha_numeric
3 Retail numeric
4 Cost numeric
22 SKU alpha_numeric
23 ISBN alpha_numeric
24 UPC alpha_numeric
31 date_received date
32 date_available date
5 weight numeric
25 Option1 alpha_numeric (S, White)
26 Option2 alpha_numeric (M, Blue)
27 Option3 alpha_numeric (L, Red)
28 Option4 alpha_numeric (XL, Green)
29 option5 alpha_numeric (XXL, Yellow)
6 Oversize numeric
7 Shipping1 numeric
8 Shipping2 numeric
9 Shipping3 numeric
10 Ship_add numeric
( this lined up so nice in the entry window) sigh
Then I can use conditionals to determine shipping, track inventory, allow customers to select an item based on a variable.
If Oversize > 0 then ship_cost = Shipping2 + (Ship_add * Oversize)
On something with a size or color
If Quantity > 0 then display_sub_category (pick size or color)
Not trying to be pushy just hoping early input might have a positive influence on future additions
From what I've been reading I'm not alone in wanting features of this type.

Many of these items you will see at some point in the development cycle of the software but I cannot give an ETA on when that maybe.

Hi Scott,
Is there any ETA for the PRO version as of yet?
Thanks,
Craig

I should also have asked - is there a short list of the requested enhancements that will be making it to the PRO version yet?
Hi Craig,
At this time there is no ETA or official list for the pro version yet.

Can u tell me whether people that have purchased the standard shopping cart will only have to pay the difference in price between it and the pro version to upgrade? or will we have to purchase the pro version at full cost?

I'm seriously considering buying the standard cart. Knowing me I'll want to upgrade later so a bump to the last post. Also, any guess at the price for pro?
Thanks
The price is still being discussed but I think it will be in the $99-$149 price range.

Thanks for the info. Will the amount paid for the standard cart be subtracted from the $99-$149 price. Will pro be backwardly compatible with standard.
Thanks
Since it is a new program, you would have to pay the new full price. We may offer discounts when it is released but I can't say as of yet. It will also be backward compatible.
