Photos Not Showing Up Anymore! - Post...

I have two shopping cart sites with hundreds of items. In Site One I updated inventory manually, saved the shop, and then exported the file for upload (the auto upload feature has never worked for me) prior to switching to the other site... and as usual I saved the "project" before switching to Site Two. For some unknown reason when Site Two loaded in SCC this time, no photos appeared! I thought perhaps this was just a glitch with the software - perhaps due to the large number of items I have listed, as sometimes the descriptions disappear until the cursor changes from one item to another (I've gotten used to that)... however, when I made my inventory update on Site Two, saved it, exported the file, and saved the project -- then posted updated Site Two to the web -- the images are indeed no longer showing up in the online cart.

Not a happy camper right now, so I'd appreciate help in how to get the images showing up again -- they *are* still in the ccdata/images directory. I don't have the time to re-attach hundreds of images manually (they're numbered images rather than named images... and it was a bear to associate all of them the first time 'round), and I'm sure there's a simple explanation (and fix!) so that whatever happened can be put right :-)

Thanks in advance...

Have you tried re-exporting it to see if it was just a defunct save that was messed up?

Yes... I did re-export as well.

For some unknown reason SCC saved/re-created all the images -- under their linked file names -- as 1K files prior to exporting, with no image in each file. I did have an older back-up version of the image files from SCC that I was able to use to upload the correct images again... and as the links were still all there in the upload the images are now redisplayed. Why would SCC create a whole site of 1K images??? Not a good glitch to have, and one I certainly want to avoid... so I need to know what caused the problem in order to prevent it in the future!

I would suggest you open a ticket on this issue classicrock, even though you have it solved, I would think they may want to have this reported as a possible bug to look into it.

I have never seen anything like that yet reported by another user either. If you open a support ticket, send us all your source files and we will see if we can replicate the issue here.

This happened to me as well.
The images do not show on my site...but they are "there" If you click on one of the empty image boxes...the image will appear in the light box.
I have a service ticket in and the cart has been sent to the developers.

As of now I have a non-working cart. Wouldn't have been too much of a problem if it was a brand new site and had no traffic. I just redesigned my whole site and made the cart to match the site. Launched the new site Thursday.

What is the problem???

I have no back up of the image file. So....

Not a happy camper, either!

Here's a link to the store of the site.

Yep you're right. Just checked out your site with Firefox and no images show up at all until you click on the empty spaces in the lightbox. The images are obviously there, but not displaying for some reason.

Am assuming you've tried to upload the site again, in case any files got corrupted first time round. Other than that, I can't think of anything obvious that could be causing this, other than perhaps the image format used. Try uploading an image in a different type of format and see if that has any effect.

I found a file with the images that was on my website host's server. Since the one in my cart on my side of the server was empty...I copied the file from my server to my Dreamweaver site, then made a copy to place in the cart on my side of the server.
Images still didn't show in a preview, I tried to re-publish the cart with the image file and now i have ZERO images showing, nothing in the lightboxes either.

The images are still on the server though...wierd.

Bad weekend for this to happen...
Like I said... no big deal if you never had a web presence, but I will be losing sales until this is corrected.

Gonna go sit by the pool and have a cold one.

Just for the sake of something to try, see if you can download (and backup for safe keeping also) the folder with the images in it from the server. Once you do that delete the folder on the server and reupload the one you downloaded and see if maybe a fresh upload will fix it. Sometimes things just don't like to upload right or transfer right or export right on some programs. May not work, but worth a try since it should only take a few minutes to do this. Might take a little bit of time to reupload, but if it fixes the issue it should be worth the time, and easier than reattaching them all :)

DO make sure they are actually photos in there also before you delete anything to be sure the file isn't just a lot of corrupted pictures etc. and once you have it downloaded to your computer you can check the sizes to be sure they are correct also then.

The problem for both of these users is the way the export was done. The export was done over an existing shop intermixing the files and folders causing the issue you are seeing. When exporting a shop, it is EXTREMELY important to export the data to a different folder. Unfortunately once this happens, the only way to correct it is to manually re-add every image back to each product.
