Paypal not working on one server but...
Hi Guys,
I am after some help re my Paypal script not working on one site but OK on another.
I have created a shop site and hosted it on my personnel server account with Hostgator and everything works OK as it should but when I move all the files to my customers Australian server the Paypal button redirects to the cart page without a button and freezes.
I have emailed the server specification as posted by Scott in previous posts to the Australian host and they assure me that they meet specifications.
Can someone please advise me how the Paypal script works and if I have possibly missed something during my transfer of files.
The two locations for the websites are :
http://www.mcrobbo.info/aqua/ hosted on Hostgator
and the other one
http://www.aquasawtell.com/index.html hosted on Netregistry Australia
I appreciate any advise that can be given regarding this.
Regards
Ian

Could you provide a little more detail as to what specifically is going on. For example, its unclear how a button redirects if there is no button.

Hmm that is a very curious issue you have there Ian. I've tried both sites, and I don't get the lockup you are saying you get, but it doesn't give me the PayPal message telling me it's redirecting me to the secure PayPal site for the purchase like it does on your Hostgator site. It's almost like the script isn't quite all there. Did you check to be sure that the PayPal information was reinserted into the settings when you transferred it? Sometimes that will remove the info and it will need to be reinserted. I'm sure you have, and I don't want to make it sound stupid, but things like this happen to the best of us so I guess I'll bring it up lol

Hi Jo Ann and Eric,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Sorry Eric I didn't make myself quite clear , on both sites the Paypal button appears but on the Australian site when you select it, the Paypal prompt message doesn't appear but it does redirect to the cart page but freezes. I hope that makes more sense.
Jo Ann I have resynchronized using the publish feature on Cart Creator so I believe it should up date the relevant pages and the strange thing is I am just copying the same methods as I used on the Hostgator site.
I appreciate any feedback as I know all too well that when you sit staring at a website and code for hours your brain sometime loses the plot and its always good to have someone look at it from a different view, so thanks again for taking the time.
I am sure I am missing something but I did have to ask the server provider to actuate php files when I first uploaded it so it could still be at their end but I am looking for some clues before going back to them.
I will wait and see if one of the CC gurus has any idea before raising a ticket.
Cheers
Ian

Definitely open a ticket as Scott suggested, that's always a sure way to get something working as a lot of the "gurus" are kept very busy and don't always get a chance to check the forums here.
As for the above quoted, what I was talking about is the information for the PayPal account itself, it doesn't usually stay put when you transfer things from one place to another and many times needs to be readded to the settings. If you meant that you did that, then never mind, just didn't sound like it to me is all

Good luck on it and I'm sure the CC team can help you get it all worked out

Hi Scott and Jo Ann,
Thanks again I will post the info on a new ticket.
