PayPal email problems

We are having trouble with purchases not being forwarded from PayPal to the email address on the PayPal account. We have no other problems with the same email address. Is this a PayPal problem? They say it's not. Any thoughts?

This is a pure paypal problem. You can check the email name you gave paypal in your paypal account itself just be sure you typed in the correct email. If this does not solve the problem you are going to have to contact paypal.

Another question, if you change the email address in your PayPal account, do you have to re-do the API setup for Shopping Cart? We don't seem to have a problem with the actual purchase transaction, just the notification from PayPal that we have had an order.

The other day I know PayPal was having some problems and when I searched Google, I found all sorts of other users having this problem.

I just ran a test here with my account using Express and Website Payments Standard and I did receive the order, so maybe the fixed it.

I've got the same problem, no notification from Paypal as regards purchase having been made:

If it's any consolation to you, sales made through eBay don't always get a payment confirmation through PayPal either. In some instances I've received a payment notice when I've actually processed and despatched the goods a few days earlier. :rolleyes:

My main sites use PayPal express, in which the other cart software I use, automatically notiifes me when a sale has been made. With the 'click and pay' rapid checkout in Shopping Cart Creator, you have a trade off between customer convenience and minimal shopping cart abandonment, against other cart's software that has laborious registration pages that not every potential customer will endure.

PayPal like every other processor, has 'glitches' in its systems some days. Only way to be double sure is to check out your account on the PayPal site on a daily basis, just to be 100 percent sure.

W've had problems with no paypal notifications as well. Could the good people at coffee cup create, add to an .xml file each time a sale occurs, just recording the sale date and method of payment (authorise.net, google, paypal etc.) no names, no values etc.

Could there be a way in software of create a page named by the site owner that reads the xml, thus creating an easy way to verify if any sales occurred.

Thought of this as I know that Scott is wary of adding email facilities due to the number host issues seen on form builder.

Anyway just a though.

Anything is possible, but I honestly can't see something like that anytime soon. It is a bit more complex that simply writing to the XML file and there are many, many other things to take into account.

We really hate to re-create the wheel so to speak, because you can log in to PayPal and verify what sales have occurred.

Fully understand not wanting to reinvent the wheel, though 1 place to check for any sales might be good, I could have suggested that you incorporate the email system from form builder..... :lol:

For info we have sales coming in from a multitude of sources, so missing one would be quite simple.... anything is better than nothing, isn't it ?

My biggest concern with implementing e-mail is the support it will require. It opens the door to a whole slue of support issues. People wanting to CC one address, BCC another, customizing SMTP ports, using a different server for sending and the list goes on and on...... I get an ulcer thinking about it ;)

I am sure down the road the Pro version will eventually tackle something like this but we will force it to be ultra simple.
