Sally, this is probably not the forum for comments relating to the release of pro. I would direct your post to the right area, but I think you know the answer already: soon!
Yes, Eric I know there are possibly more relevant threads, however, I do get impatient with all the requests that people come up with that, to me, seem rather beyond what would be expected of a more universal ecommerce cart. I've been told that all these request don't dilute the effort to get Pro released. Perhaps I'm reading too much in the OP's request, go figure.

He is looking for the best answer now so he can help his client, not for some future software program that no one knows when it is going to come out.

OK, I can understand OP's frustration. I too am looking for the best answer concerning using Flash Search with the standard CCSC while waiting for Pro. I never did get an answer, only that Pro would be out soon. I made a tongue-in-cheek comment about a semi-Pro CCSC. Perhaps not so unreasonable a suggestion. An interim version with search and sub-categories would make me a happy camper and I suspect others waiting for.......

Actually Sally, this is a current feature of the SCC it's not something Pro is needed for at all. It's just that the person asking didn't know how to set it up is all and is asking for assistance. No worries though, we understand your pain on the wait
@John: Looks good how you have it, but you could very easily setup the Optional Fields for those packages that have less than 5 choices to make so the packages that only include 1 shirt and 2 shorts or 2 shirts and 1 shorts or similar can be easily made as I described in that long post a few back. Here's an example for a package that includes 3 shirts and 2 shorts (total being up to 5 items here max for the optional fields):
Choose your Shirt Color:
Orange
Black
Choose your Shirt color:
Orange
Black
Choose your Shirt color:
Orange
Black
Choose your Shorts Color:
Orange
Black
Choose your Shorts Color:
Orange
Black
These would be drop downs that give them a complete choice (add any other colors you like, the list part is almost unlimited, or if there's a limit we haven't heard yet lol). They can get all the same colors or any combo they want this way.
The packages that contain more than 5 items you'll definitely need to do like you did with those with 5 shirts etc. Maybe you could also discuss with your client the possibility of having separate packages for shirts and shorts rather than all combined? This would allow them to have a package of 5 shirts that have different colors, and shorts the same way. They may even want to just add something like that to what you already have which would allow you to use the Optional Fields then for the choices. Just a thought there.

I guess another frustration to me is the level of difficulty and thought that I would think went into the option field in standard but still no search feature. When I check out a cart I usually blow out of it if no search feature. I just want to view what I what to view and am not interested in wading through hundreds of irrelevant items. At least I was able to make good use of the option field by using it as an item identifier. Again, will Flash Search work with the standard CCSC?
Thanks
Thanks

Sally, what is your search frustration. I have successfully setup CC flash search with shopping cart. What question are you not getting answered in regards to that, maybe I can help.

Just a small side note, the Pro version will have a search feature.

Thanks Eric, you answered my question that yes CC flash search works with CCSC. Now that I know it's compatible, I'll dig into it. Earlier I was told they didn't work together.
Just a small side note, the Pro version will have a search feature.
Thanks Scott, I know search will be in Pro when released.......Soon................

And Scott, I can understand the difficulty in developing this complex software. I can remember my manager standing over me asking for updates and changing requirements. And to think, I was working with 4GL, far, far easier. You guys rock but Pro please...

Be aware though that it will not work implemented into the cart program itself. You have to put the search on an html page (like a storefront page). but, as long as you do that it works like a charm. I have done it on 3 stores now.
