It's not package features John, it's Optional Fields in the More Options section of your product. Give me a sec and I'll map out your screen shot with how it's all done :)

What if they want two of the same shirt? I was thinking that the select qty would be with each optional selection and then you would have a qty for the package as well.

Ok, in the screen shot attached you'll find numbered areas. Just follow this list and you'll get a great package setup :)

1. Click this button to create a New Optional Field (Optional Field is basically 1 of those choices that you see on my product page in the link from my previous post. Each dropdown that has a scent in it is a separate optional choice. The X next to this button will delete Optional Fields you choose also.

2. Once you create a new Optional Choice you have a choice of telling it which one you want to show up first in the list. Whichever one you've chosen will show up in this box. To choose which order they go in, hit the pencil button next to the X button and you'll get a list of each of your current Optional Fields in that product. You'll see 2 blue arrows at the bottom of that little box that opens, use those to order the fields the way you want them to display on the product.

3. Here is where you create the items you want in the list. Each line represents a choice so here is where you'd type (of course using your own names and labels) something like:
Shirt 1
Shirt 2
Shirt 3

4. Sharing Optional Fields is something you do if you want every product in that category to have the exact same options. Here's a trick you can do for this if you don't want them all to share the same fields yet you have multiples that have the same fields. Instead of doing the Share Optional Fields you can just copy and paste the product. Using the menu at the top like any other program choose Edit then Copy Product, and then choose the Edit again and choose Paste Product (you can also use the windows copy/paste keys of ctrl+c to copy and ctrl+v to paste).

This allows you to create duplicate products that you can then just swap out the images and adjust your text according to the new product and at the same time retain all the choices in your Optional Fields so you don't need to do them over. A big time saver for many products whether using the Optional Fields or not.

Please let me know if that helps and if you need more assistance on it. Have fun and good luck.

Oh btw, don't get the designer as an upgrade for the Creator. The designer is for designing themes and altering themes for your cart program, it doesn't have anything to do with the actual data you put in your cart, only has to do with how your cart is styled visually :) It's a great program though for sure if you're wanting to do that, Pro is the best choice as it has the most features for the money.

The select quantity will do exactly this:

When someone says they want 2 packages, they will get 2 packages of the exact things they choose in the Optional Fields. In other words, they will get 2 duplicate packages. I don't believe there is any way of creating separate package fields for multiple packages chosen.

I think you would just set up multiple packages and they can chose the packages they want.

I thought a shopping cart was just that, a cart where a buyer can purchase multiply items or am I missing something? How about just getting Pro out with features that, IMO, should be basic to any ecommerce cart:
o Item identifier, handed for now as an option field
o Sub-categories
o Shipping discount for multiply items
o Search

From my post 5/7/10:
I was able to include an item identifier using the optional field feature. I can partially refund shipping payment for buyers buying more than one item, however, my shop needs sub-categories/directories and a search feature. Will the new version of CC Flash Website Search work will CCSC? Should I consider making each category into a sub-directory linked to my cart? Trying to made do while waiting for Pro....

After my 5/7 post I was again told Soon

I was going to create packages based on combinations but that may prove to be very combersom. The client wants to allow the customer to seleect 1 pair of shorts and 2 shirts which can be same color or one of each of 2 colors. So that means 3 packages.

Now, comes the tuff part. The next option is 2 shorts and 5 shirts in any combination of the 2 available colors.

Can I remove the "Add to Cart" on the veiw categories page? If not, then the customer would not beabel to select sizes.

Sally, this is probably not the forum for comments relating to the release of pro. I would direct your post to the right area, but I think you know the answer already: soon!

I guess the only question left, is how many colors? I think we can get this set up, but you would be limited on 5 colors per package.

1. Create a product: "1 Shorts and 2 shirts package".
2. Create a field: "shorts colors"
3. Create 5 field options: "shorts-Red, shorts-Blue, shorts-Green, shorts-Yellow, shorts-Orange".
4. Create a field: "shirts colors"
5. Create 5 field options: "just like above but with shirt colors"

Now, say they purchase this package, then after they select this package they will be given two options, one that says "chose your shorts colors", and one that says "chose your shirts colors".

I think that works.

I think I have it but still would like to remove the "add to cart" on the view category page.
Here is a link to the final category page http://www.hp2sports.com/shop/viewcategory.php?groupid=0

I need a better theme, so off to get that done.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
