OMG what has happened to my shop?

Hi Everyone

I seriously need some help here. I purchased SCCP in November 2012 and have slowly built up a shop now selling 786 items. See www.museumreproductions.co.uk A few days ago I updated the software, for the 1st time, (sorry I did now) and now this morning the Desktop shortcut to the software has gone. I found the software exe file and ran it but my shop is no longer there !!

I've been on to Support this morning and they told me to find the scc file which is the project file. I found it on the server but it states that it is corrupted !! Support tell me there is nothing that can be done now and I will have to rebuild the shop from scratch. What, 786 separate entries complete with description, photo, weight and price !!!! It'll take me forever.

There has to be a work-around after all this came about because I did a simply software update. I have noticed that there are some xml files on the server with title like products.xml. pages.xml, reports.xml and categories.xml Surely these files contain all the info needed for building the shop.

Can any of you wonderful people advise as to what the best route is to take with regard to rescuing something from this disaster?

Thanks is adavnce

Hi Brian, There has not been a software update to this application for many years so I am not sure what you were updating. From what I understand, and I do not work for CC, there is no support for this software as it has been discontinued. I had this happen to me once before, not for the same reasons but I had to rebuild my shop. My website was not as large as yours so it didnt take me too long to rebuild.

This software is quite old and out of date with no support. I would highly recommend finding different software to build it, one that is supported.

It has been a request of mine for a long time for CC to create a responsive shopping cart. It is my hope that they will create a shopping platform for us. Until then I use Prestashop for all my webstores. This may be the perfect opportunity to upgrade your website.
Taking over the world one website at a time!

I wonder if there's any mileage in this ......Could there be any way of finding and downloading the older version of CoffeeCup from 2012, then uninstalling the new broken one, then reinstalling the old one, then trying to restore again using the older installation file. The version from 2012 seems to be version 12.5 - which may be the one I;m after.

Thoughts?

SCC only got up to version 3.9.4355. Did you have SCC Pro?

What a bummer !!! I have just downloaded an old version of the software after getting rid of the new version and tried to open the shop by clicking on the scc file but it still says that it is corrupted :-(

I am soooo disappointed that we have reached this outcome. Please guys, surely there is a way of getting some of this info back to help with the site rebuild !!
