Hello, how do I specify free shipping on all items if the cart exceeds a certain amount, for instance, I want the cart to have free shipping if the subtotal reaches over $99 before taxes, is there anyway to do this?

Sorry I have searched the site but did not find an answer, maybe I didn't word it properly. Any help would be appreciated.

This isn't possible with the current version of SCC. I don't know if the soon-to-be-released Pro version will have this feature but it likely will at some point.

This is an important option for all shopping carts, especially now a days.. customers want free shipping... the SCC should have had this option right from the start ... well let's see what happens with the pro version...

I have spend a lot of my money with coffeecup software.. I need more enhanced version.. this does not even have product feed feature..u have to use 3rd party..

Coffeecup better update soon.. in their Pro version or if not I am changing over to something better.....

When I originally bought the Cart Creator program, this was because it was a simpler solution to some of the more complex programs I had used in the past. To have expected things like product feeds and advanced shipping options on a product costing less than fifty bucks, would not have been a realistic proposition for me. The commercial programs that I found that offered facilities like that, typically had starting prices of $800 plus. The reality is, that many shop owners can recoup the cost of the basic cart creator with just one day's sales, or just a few transactions. That has to be good value by anyone's standard.

The pro version has been developed solely on direct feedback from existing users of Cart Creator, that gave overwhelming support for having two separate products. The basic version for ease of use and a pro version with more advanced features. The pro version will offer significantly more features, to enable its deployment in a wider range of business environments. It is also going through a development phase though, so new features will be added to the product in the coming months, based on feedback from Coffeecup users when the product is released.

I am also disapointed by the shipping options available in the cart creator. Paypal cart has a very useful way to calculate the shipping, based on a variety of order values.
There are numerous options in the cart creator, quite complex ones, like % of the order value and so on, but it's the wrong way round! Shipping costs should get cheaper when you buy more goods, not more expensive - until you get to an order value where shipping is free.
Its not a good idea to let the customer pick the shipping cost. I had encountered this problem in the google checkout. If you ask the customer to pick the shipping charge relevant to the order value, they pick the cheaperst irrelevant of the order value.
I thought of a way of calculating the shipping cost which would suit me:
a) say the default shipping is £6 = min schipping charge
let the customer select better deal in the additional shipping options
b1) shipping cost per item, say £1.50: if he only buys up to 3 items, he will save with this option
b2) shipping cost is calculated as 10 - 20%of order value (positive only): if he spends over £20 he will save, until he arrives at free shipping for orders over £50

Here's how I do Free Shipping:

I just put a 'Free Shipping' option in my shipping charges list. Then, I just simply say, in the Shipping policy copy and in the item copy, as a header or footer note, usually, "Free Shipping on orders over $99.00." Be sure to select Free Shipping when you check out if your order is over $99."

People do it, and I don't have any problems. It is an honor system, but I haven't had any problems with my custormers. A more elegant solution would certainly be welcomed, but this is working for me until then....
