Changing top logo/banner

Hi, I'm a newbie playing with settings and wanted a banner accross the top.
I saw that you can slice a picture in two and change logo and header_bg files.
Then I came across that it seems if you make a big file (mine is 920 x 128) and replace the logo its spills across and looks fine. I also deleted the header file although I don't think this is necessary.
Are there any problems to doing this and is there any way I could stop it being changed on upload or a way of integrating into the upload.
Thanks

At this time, there is no way to make any modifications to the templates within the software. However you can manually make any changes you like to the CSS files.

Rockingh, once you change the css and upload it there is no reason this will change when you upload your shop again after adding new items. At least I have never had this problem and I have changed the css in two shops.

Btw I like your smart rhinestone iron on (having a smart myself) and will order one from you soon. Will also put a notice on the smart forum as I am sure there are others who may also want one.

AD99wd, I'm affraid for advanced users such as you an i it is easy , however. For novice users when they change the CSS file, add more items to thier carts then recreate the cart for upload it WILL rewrite the css file. if the altered one is still on the server.

Note to all who read this and have put a lot of time into the look of your cart. When you add items to your cart and recreate the cart ONLY up load the folowing and NOTHING MORE

ccdata/data/data.php <has all the new items in it
ccdata/data/images(folder) <has all the images of your new and old items
if you only upload these files your css and any other alterations your have made to the look of your cart will stay intact only the items, cats, and images will be updated.

P.S. AD99wd, please don't be offended if i come across like a smart a**. I've been a php programmer for Zend for 5 years.:lol::P

Excellent
Thanks for the information Rhinox. I was bulling my way through trying to figure out what I need to do for my future shop (like a thickbox fix for IE) and this will save me some time.

Thanks ad99wd
The site is now up and running including the "smart car" but it is now on the full site www.jaz-d.com
I'm confused as to which css I might need to change for the top logo.
I'm pretty confidant generally but havent delved into php previously.
It would be very usefull if someone could make a list of which file to change to vary different items on the shop.
Heres hoping :)
