Whilst PayPal offers a means of producing online postage labels (in UK at least), it is very wasteful by using an entire page of paper to print a single small label. As self adhesive label paper is prohibitive in cost for that sort of wastage, I print onto regular copy paper then sellotape to the package. It only looks tidy because I've done it for so long now, but it's still time consuming.

For some reason Google always seems to be the 'Cinderella' of the payment providers. I can immediately think of three powerful pieces of open source software that have a comprehensive range of payment options, but with all three of them Google Checkout is an additional module that has been developed by third parties, rather than being part of the main program. Whilst Google may have lost any advantage by increasing its fees to match PayPal's exactly, it is still nice to offer the customer a choice of payment providers at checkout.

I too use plain copy paper when printing PayPal labels. I make sure to tape all edges. Yes, Google's fees match PayPal's. Given the ability to create labels with PayPal, much prefer buyers to use it.

The fees are identical to PayPal but there is a slight additional charge with Google for international orders for some obscure reason? Like many others I ship worldwide on a daily basis, so that would be a small cut out of my profits, but that can be balanced out by giving customers a choice I guess.

Interestingly enough, if you type in 'PayPal versus Google Checkout' into search engines, Google seems to get a real hammering on its customer service (or lack thereof).

I have also for years. But, instead of taping the labels on the package I use Avery white 1-inch diameter glue stick. Permanent, colorless. And, I think the appearance is more professional. Cheaper for us than tape based on about eight years of usage, especially when eBay was going gang-busters for us and we were shipping about 150 packages a week.

I specifically mentioned Avery because we tried most of the other brands also. This one works best in my opinion. Usually have to order from an office supply store to get the 1-inch size. Don't bother with the small quarter inch, half inch sizes you may see -- a pain (you know where).
