Hello, Java Jacks and Java Jills.

My website is GetintheGameStore.com

My operating system is WIN XP 64 SP3.

I built my site with Shopping Cart Creator 3.7, Build 2751. I built my web form with Web For Builder 8.2, build 206. Both are registered versions. Every time I try to insert a web form into a product detail page and publish the site. No web form appears online. Here are the steps:

I built the web form and save it.
I pasted the web form html into each of the Pro Locker Room Print Products via the insert html button.
I uploaded the supporting files to my public_html root folder via the export process~zipped folder~upload within cPanel/filemanager~extract and move to public_html.

I do not see it in the source code when I view the source of the live web page. The following is a link to one of the product details page on the live website which is where I thought Shopping Cart Creator would put the code. Hmmm...

As my store sells personalized prints, I need customers to be able to fill out various forms per product. I did consider putting the various forms on the shopping cart page, but realized that doesn't work since a customer might want multiples of the same types of prints.

Thanks for reading this post.

The only thing missing from the procedures you mentioned is that of uploading the form files to the right folder on your server. Also, make sure that when you upload the form files to the server that you include the .swfobject.

You need to paste in the code using the HTML Tool on the product page. Then you need to upload all the files to the to the root folder of http://getinthegamestore.com/

Thanks to you both for responding.

Scott, I did use the insert html button to insert the code on the product detail page. In fact, I saw the code in the box after inserting it. However, when I returned to the Product Detail page, I did not see the code. I was not alarmed by this fact as other softwares I have used move inserted html to the background when viewing wysiwyg screens.

I also uploaded the cart and all of the form supporting documents (BTW, Eric, I love the dancing spiderman!) to the root folder of getinthegamestore.com.

I have an open support ticket on this issue. I made my files available to Lucia via yousendit, which link is in my support page if wither of you wish to delve deeper.

I will recreate my web forms, reinsert them into the proper Product Detail pages, and reupload the whole shootin' match again. Then, I'll come back here and let you know the outcome.

Yea, let us know, because I have been thinking about this one.

I am recreating my web forms. I am using the Touchdown submission form from CC.

Brainstorming questions to follow:

Is there a way to allow a form to be submitted without leaving the product page? Or redirect to the very same product page?

Is it possible to replace the current Add to Cart button on each Product Detail page to a submission form with a SUBMIT button which simultaneously emails the form, send the info to a .txt file, and adds the item to the shopping cart?

And while we're at it... world peace would be nice.

Hiya Dana,

For the first question it's just a matter of telling it what page you want it to go to if any. I believe you need to give an exact redirect address or create a page for redirecting it to. I am wondering if it might not be possible to setup a site page that will automatically go back to the previous page basically hitting the back button automatically using a script or something? Someone else may know if that's possible or not, I can think of ideas but the scripting isn't in my brain for them lol. I do know there isn't a way to do that within the form builder itself and that leads also to the next question....

It's not possible to tie the 2 programs (buttons) together within the SCC at all. Right now the only thing you can do is create that form for them to fill out and have it go to another page. It's not possible to connect the purchasing and the form submission together though....

But one thing about the first question that might be a work around, crude but it should work. Right now on my forms I have mine just going right back to my main shop page, but you just gave me an idea by asking about this lol. I'm wondering how bad it would be if a customer were to be redirected to a Thank You page of sorts which has a line of text that says simply "To return to the product page you were viewing please hit your back button on your browser" or something similar. To get back all you have to do is hit the back button, and maybe there's a way to script a back button into the Thank You page that will take you back to the last page? Another thought there too....

Thanks for the input, Jo Ann. I am gratified to have prompted some creative thinking. Please keep me posted....

I strive to adhere to the KISS principle. To that end, I intend to make a multifaceted form and place it on the cart page with a text box large enough for customers to input several sets of data. The form will redirect to the cart.

What is the maximum length capacity for a text box?

Further attempts to make one form fit all have proven unacceptably convoluted. A Thank you page is the next option.

Thanks, again.

Hiya Dana,

Yeah a TY page is a good idea and that way you can say what you need to say without dealing with the short text boxes. Granted you can do it with the Form Builder without too much hassle as long as you have a bit of patience to stack text boxes side by side and under eachother to get everything you want to say in them, but it is a bit of a frustration at best. I'm hoping a future release will give us the ability to put our own lengths and widths for them or just make them resizeable like the input boxes are.

Some people do use the Input boxes for the text boxes since it's easier and then you just make it so it can't be typed in, it's just a text box then. That works if you don't care if it's transparent or not so that's another option.

I like the idea of a TY page, and I definitely have to update mine too so it does that instead of sending people to the home page lol. For mine though it's mostly for out of stock requests for people to get notified when something is restocked that's out of stock. Redirecting to the home page for this really isn't too bad I suppose since they can't really order the item they were at if it's out of stock hehe.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
