Can SCC utilize multiple levels or...

It appears that SCC can only support two levels... i.e., the first level for "computers" (as in the example) and the second level for individual products within that group.

I really need more layers. I need my customers to be able to see something like "sound equipment" then groups like "microphones," "speakers," "consoles" etc. Then see in each of those subcategories individual products. I'd actually like another layer in between, such as "dynamic microphones," "condenser microphones" and "active speakers," "passive speakers."

Is there any way to do this with SCC? It doesn't appear so.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi Shawn

Right now, that is all the software supports. We are looking into adding support for sub categories in a later version.

Scott;

Any idea as to when the next version will roll out? I've been holding off OSCommerce or or Zen Cart but can't wait much longer. Client likes the simplicity but needs to be up and running also.

At this time I have no ETA on when such a feature would be in the software.

Bump! My store is getting bogged down with too many categories. This combined with no in-site search may discourage potential buyers. I love the cart and keep adding inventory to it. I originally planned to keep my Buy It Sell It (BISI) store as my flagship site. BISI has lots of features I like, however, it's in cyberland unlike my CC cart which is happily residing on my hard drive. Originally I planned to use CC's cart to replace my cuteSITEbuilder build website but now I'm so impressed with it that I hope to sent my BISI store to the cyberland bone yard by year's end. It's a pain tracking inventory across too many venues.

I've considered breaking my CC cart into sub-directories and linking from the home page. Then I could have a Southwestern Jewelry sub-directory and have four categories, rings, men's jewelry etc. Then when the pro and/or standard version allows for sub-categories somehow bring the sub-directory back into my cart. I broke up my cuteSITEbuilder website due to the massive size of files, lots of work and buyer can get lost too easily.

I would hope that we will eventually be able to have three levels of sub-categories. Please.....

Thank you for a great shopping cart......
