when you click the image in the product detail you should be seeing the largest size graphic that SCC creates which is most definitely larger than 212 x 212. If you are seeing something else, then either the size of the original graphic was not larger than that, or it's missing them somewhere. Keep in mind that there does have to be a larger graphic for the zoomed out box to display it.
Turns out that my first try was 212 x 212 and the browser cached that image, since the graphic image file name was the same, it continued to display the cached version of 212 x 212 even though I had uploaded a 500 x 500 version.
When I cleared the browser cache, problem fixed.
My next frustration is that the default image in the image browser must be the 212 x 212 size, rather than one of the images from the lower four thumbnails. Sure, you can swap them around, but if you put one of the larger files as the default, it also changes the thumbnail on the list page to a reduced and therefore blurry image of the larger file. I really wish that the thumbnail and detail images were totally independent of each other. I understand that the way it is set up makes it faster to create a store for an inexperienced user, but once you know how it works you should be able to change the default on the detail page in my opinion.

Hello Royson,
This is an interesting point and we have added this to our 'watch list' for the Pro version. If we learn from more people that they are interested in this function we very likely will implement it in a future release.
Thanks for the feedback!
