Updating the cart without ruining...

I have never been able to upload the cart via normal publishing (I host at Bravehost.com), so I have to export shop for upload, then delete the old server on my computer, rename the newly-exported version to match the previous one, and upload.

I think this damages the inventory numbers, because they never seem to be right. ;-) Sometimes, the inventory shows a negative number but doesn't list the item as being sold out.

Is there a way to update the cart when I can't publish through SCC Pro, but not damage the inventory?

And, is there a way to change inventory to reflect a sale that was received via phone/mail, and not ordered online through the cart?

Thanks,

Toni

Unfortunately no. If you upload your shop manually it will break a lot of the inventory functions. You need to publish through Shopping Cart Creator for all this to work together. I looked at your account and I don't show that you have ever opened a support ticket regarding any uploading issues. I would suggest doing that first and see if we can fix you up. Just be very detailed as to what does not work and any error messages you get so we can help. Be as specific as you can. ;)

You can also manually update the inventory amount inside of the software as well, but then you need to sync the inventory and that requires the publishing again through the software.
