Hi all

I created a Transparent Background with Paint.net as I wanted to overlay the Shopping Cart on our current web pages. (Save a lot of work I thought as only had to adjust the size of the content)

It does not work or maybe I have missed something. (refer to my other post also re loosing paths in Shopping Cart Creator)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please don't take too much notice of the Shopping Cart as I have pointed it to a test shop while trying to work this out. It does not have much in it at present and not laid out as the love site will be.

Login doesn't work Noel so I can't test anything for you and I'm sure Eric can't either then.

One thing I will say though is that you need to adjust your logo image it's huge, and you have it scaling and it takes a long time for that image to load that way.

Resize that image to the size you want it to be and change that in the code to reflect the new size and you'll be surprised at how much faster the pages will load.

Other than that, I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you're wanting correctly or not, but if you're talking about making the shop show within your own site pages (basically iframing it) that is definitely not a good idea and I don't believe you will get it to work fully how you want it because when it sends people to PayPal or whatever payment processing site you're using, it's going to come back to the shop not the iframed page they left which may confuse your shoppers. Keep in mind that if you try to alter some of the code of the landing pages it may not refresh your visitors cart and may not remove the products from the cart so you need to be careful what you're altering on that too.

You would do better to make your shop look like your page, or make your page look like your shop (much easier) than to try to include the shop into external pages.

I cannot change the Main Web Page as it is written in PHP by a third party as explained in my earlier posts. I am stuck with it. The logo is only 256 kb. It can be looked at but it was created to the size as required by the "professional programmers" that wrote the Main system..

I have overcome all the shoppers problems of coming back to the Shopping Cart or the Main Page as it was quite easy using two PAY PAL accounts with the return URL being different in both but Pay Pal banking into one bank account.

our Main Site is not Frames. there is one HTML Template and all the inner PHP's are all positioned via the CSS files and DIV's etc

I do not write PHP. I managed to work my way around getting it to Link to The Shopping Mall by "Trial and Error' programming.

No I do not want my shop to run in FRAMES. I managed to get a Template set up to place things on the page as I wanted but this will require the use of a TRANSPARENT Background in the Shopping Cart so that it does not overwrite side panels etc. They can be displayed still if I had a transparent screen with the Contents and Categories having a white background the same as the main site.

This is the site CUT AND PASTED from the short cut on my desktop. It does run Ok and I tested the passwords etc. http://www.shoppermall.dmensions.com

It does work and is fast but then again I am in Singapore and we do have fast Internet and it is hosted in Asia via fast ISP's so I do not notice any slowness. When completed it will be on a dedicated server

Member Login is DEMO and Password is DEMO both in UPPER CASE. Select SYDNEY as a location as that is the only location that I have created deals for.

Caps make a big difference in ID's and PW's the all caps worked and I was able to log in. I don't know what to tell you as far as including it into pre-existing site pages, the shop software files are not designed for that, so good luck with it.

Other than that, it was iframes I was talking about not Frames which are 2 totally different things

Here's the exact image for your logo that is being used on all of your pages. I'm sure you'll see exactly what I mean by resize it to fit instead of using it as is. This is the picture that is being used, this size. That means that because it's using this picture and the code is scaling it down, the whole entire picture still has to load even though it's only showing that smaller logo. Takes quite a while on the initial load of the page.

Yes it looks like a TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND is not possible in Shopping Cart. It is a pity really as it would save a lot of work and double coding. I have examined a lot of the PHP code and CSS files for Shopping Cart and can see some potential once the base shop design is completed. I always believe that there is no such thing as can't.

I can see the PHP's that would have to be changed manually on each upload but this can also be automated by a good analyst/programmer. Finding one is the problem after my experience with the main site.

Looks like back to the drawing board for the time being.
