I'm starting a countdown on Scott's pledge of his firstborn for the September release of SCC Pro.

It's fourteen days and counting . . .

Everybody complains about Ebay and PayPal but the fact is you are not going to get the exposure from search engines as you will on Ebay. That is the service they provide for the fees they demand.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

I know what you're saying there Terri, but it will pass and people will reopen their accounts because it's so big, not a small business like it used to be.

Other than that, you can always tell your customers that they can use their credit cards with the same PayPal checkout on the Cart as normal, you don't have to have a PayPal account at all to check out with a credit card on the PayPal structured setup of the Shopping Cart Creator, it's just not as easy to see the link is all :P

PayPal is a huge international operation, with over one hundred million account holders worldwide, so where it gets its 'amateur' tag from is quite beyond me.

Some of the smaller sites that ONLY offer direct credit card payments on their own site probably wonder why they don't do much trade. If a total stranger came up to you in the street and asked for your credit card details you simply wouldn't give them out, but some site owners expect just that. At least with a big operation I know they are going to have security protocols in place as to who has access to that information on their databases. I also know my details aren't going to be lying around in a downtown store, where someone has forgot to shut the window overnight, or left on a pc when it goes for repair at the local computer shop.

Tom is right about the foot traffic on eBay, but that has to be offset by the fact that eBay allows illegally described items to sit in direct competition with you on the same search page. They also have increasingly stupid rules that seem to want to alienate the sellers that provide them with their income. Their latest is a real gem, in certain circumstances customers can be fully refunded without having to return the item to you.

Don't get all excited Jo Ann... lol :) We all knew they'd have to let go of their 'baby' eventually.

I just hope folks remember that it is a simpler 'straight to payment processor' cart and a workable alternative to the complex database driven solutions out there.

Oh Alfred Hitchcock. I love his eerie sense of humour, if that is what you may call it.

Let's just hope if Scott is his re-incarnate, he doesn't want us all buried in some bizarre world surrounded by coffee cups. We can't buy CC Software then Scott, remember that. :D

I get like that when my girlfriend brings home the weekly shop. Has she got me apple or custard doughnuts??

For some reason I never get quite so excited by software, as i know the longest I'd ever have to wait for doughnuts is 24 hours. :)

Oh yeah, I can relate because waiting for Pro isn't anywhere near as important as which type of donuts I'm going to get, and I don't even eat them. :D

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
