Hi

I was running Shopping Cart Creator Pro 3.9.4251 and the new Shopping Cart Designer Pro 3.9.414.


Today I downloaded the new Shopping Cart Creator Pro 3.9.4292 and the new Shopping Cart Designer Pro 3.9.462.

I also downloaded the update themes.

The themes all unpacked fine and installed, the Designer installed fine as well.

The Creator installs untill it gets near the end and tries to create shortcuts etc etc.

The installer then stops responding. Have restarted the machine and tried to install again, but always stalls at this point on Windows 7.

But not a problem if I launch the application it seems to work fine and shows the correct version:

I then went to use a theme I had modified and it informed me that it had to be upgraded in Designer, so not a problem, clicked edit and it loaded fine.
But now when I hit Export to put it back into Creator I get the following error:

So looks like it did not install completley after all :(


Any suggestions ? I know this was only released today, so do not expect many others might not of upgraded yet.

Hey there!

It sounds like is you have an older version of Shopping Cart Creator (Basic/Pro) or Shopping Cart Designer (Basic/Pro) installed on your system. You need to make sure that you first install the latest versions of Shopping Cart Creator (Basic/Pro) and then install the latest versions of Shopping Cart Designer (Basic/Pro) next.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Go to Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs or Windows Control Panel > Uninstall a Program to remove all copies of Shopping Cart Creator and Shopping Cart Designer, Shopping Cart Creator Pro and Shopping Cart Designer Pro.

2. Go to My Products to download the latest versions of Shopping Cart Creator (Basic/Pro) and Shopping Cart Designer (Basic/Pro) that you want to use.

This should fix you up!

Hi Scott

I think your install programs recognise the old versions were there and un-installed them anyway, as when I go to Add/Remove Programs only Designer showed as being installed and because the Creator install never completed it does not show up in Add/Remove Programs.

Anyway I uninstalled the Designer and went into C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software\ folder and removed all files.

Then I re-installed Creator and it froze again at the same point.
Designer installed again with no problems, also both are being installed with full Admin rights.

But Designer checks to see if Creator is installed when hitting the Export, but because the install never completed, then it is not registered correctly with Windows Registry etc etc.

You may have some registry issues that you need to address. I would suggest you visit this site (http://www.ccleaner.com/), and download the free version by following the download links, then install it onto your computer.

Now you will need to run the application, and select the Registry tool on the left, then scan for issues. Next you will need to click on Fix selected issues and do not back up the changes to the registry. Then click on the option to fix all selected issues.

After you do that reboot and then run the process once more and reboot again. Hopefully this will kick start your computer to behaving properly. ;)

One other thing to try for me is just leave it sitting on that dialog and even though it says "Not Responding", let it sit there for a qood amount of time and see if it eventually completes.

Hi Scott

Okay got it sorted.

I ran up the install program again and ran up Process Monitor, this is a tool that shows exactly what files and registry keys are being accessed by an executable.
So I placed Shopping-Cart-Creator-Pro-Full-3.9.4292.exe into the filter and sat back waiting for it to get the install position where it gets stuck.

What I noticed straight away was it was stuck in a loop trying to create and write to C:\Users\Sean\Documents\CoffeeCup Software which is my profile area on the machine.

So I crashed out the installer, renamed the CoffeeCup Software folder in my profile and ran up the installer again. This time it sucessfully completed and shows as fully installed in Add/Remove Programs :)

So all good and seems you got to clear this area down when upgrading as well.
