Questions From SCC Pro Newbie - Post...
I submitted a support ticket regarding the below questions, then thought about the Forum here...so I thought I would submit them to see what kind of feedback I got.
Let me preface by saying I've been building web sites for several years, so I'm no HTML novice. I'm well versed in html, php, cgi, etc. However, I am a total newbie to SCC Pro. That being said...
I'm in the process of building a new shop using a template that I designed with SC Designer Pro. No probs there. Now I'm down to putting the pages of the shop together and I have a few questions about how the shop looks. The answers may be right in front of me and I'm just not seeing them...but anyway, here goes:
1) Is it possible to insert images or other items underneath the navigational menu (which I have on the left side of the page). For instance, I would like to insert an email newsletter signup form, put in a couple of graphics, etc. I see the menu as a column, and I would like to add things to that column below the Menu in that column. Do-able or not?
2) I build contact forms using a third-party program and the form generated is an html file. How can I copy and paste that html into a page of SCC? I added a Contact Us page, and tried pasting my form html into SCC using the Insert HTML button...but no matter how I try to paste the html it doesn't work. I uploaded my shop then downloaded the Contact Us page to my PC and had a look at the HTML source. I can see nowhere where I could add my form html, then re-upload the page again.
3) How do I insert an image into a SCC page? For example, I want to place a centered graphic at the very top of my shop Home page, but I can find no way to insert it.
4) Finally, it would seem there would be a more advanced HTML editor for use in SCC. Is there no way to choose font positioning (left, right, justified), image insertion, table insertion, etc. Is this possible? If not, why? Is there an add-on for SCC Pro that has a more advanced HTML editor? I know they're out there. Even the freebie shopping carts like CubeCart and Zen Cart have a more advanced HTML editor than SCC Pro...unless I'm missing something. This is not a complaint...but a suggestion.
Any and all responses are most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

#1 Use some CSS style code to force the absolute or relative position of your images. You can paste this code right in to your Header custom markup so it will appear on every page.
#2 You should be able to paste your form code with the html tool as you did. It's probably a linking issue to the files. I like to use absolute links for testing then change them to relative after I make sure things are cool.
#3 This would be done in SCDP Header properties.
#4
This can al be done with HTML and CSS inserted into your page in SCCP.
This will probably answer some of your other questions that your going to ask.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Welcome to the forum, Andrew!
I found that to be able to easily edit the cart, one needs Shopping Cart Designer Pro as well. It allows for editing each section of your pages, everything from adding logos and custom graphics to tweaking paddings, margins, etc.
I'm no pro at coding
, but I was able to get the look I wanted using the designer alongside the Cart Creator.
You'll find many threads through here dealing with even more customization, including adding Facebook "like" buttons and forms.

Thanks to all who have responded. I've done some playing around and have been able to accomplish some of what I wanted...and will keep doing so until I get everything tweaked.
BTW paintbrush, I do have SCD Pro and am using the template I designed. Although, I do plan to make a few minor changes.
Thanks again...and keep posting if anybody has any other suggestions.
Mucho Appreciado!
