Having trouble publising, it gets stuck at "testing server status"

hmm. hit the cancel button and then clicked no to continue to publish. now its stuck on "updating grid". tried hitting cancel again but it just stays on 'updating grid"

I would try changing your ftp settings.
Or turn off antivirus or firewall.

settings look good. I have another shop I publish and my anti-virus - firewall doesn't interfere, same host

the updating grid bar doesnt move unless i click cancel then no, then it moves a little. I wait about 10 seconds and repeat to get it to move

Well the bar is all the way across and now it just sits there and says synchronizing

Can you publish to the other shop ok at this time. Maybe the server is over loaded or maybe your on a shared connection. Teenagers video chatting or sharing music.
