OK the majority of upload errors are caused by incorrect upload paths. I knew this and so copied the path directly from the address bar in Direct FTP and pasted it into the SCCPro field. I was unable to publish without file errors every time.
The solution was that I pasted the path I copied from DFTP into Notepad first then recopied it into the SCCPro it worked fine. There must have been invisible characters in there I guess.
So...If you have upload problems and you've pasted the text in, try typing it in by hand or get it into a pure text form with notepad or sticky notes first.
