Anyone else noticed that with paypal payments the item description has become dramatically abbreviated, or is it just me

item SHORT description SOLD :: Hallmarked 14 x 12 oxford oval signet ring

Paypal payment description :: Hallmarked 14 x 1

No idea what i have sold anymore just started happening scince i updated SCCP last

Had to wait for an order to know this answer Viv, but it's the same as what's on my shop. My titles are a lot shorter than yours though, so that could be it. I would need to wait for someone to order something that has a longer title description.

I carted one of your items, and on the paypal order form, it showed the item in full, so maybe you could contact Paypal to see why it's doing this?

Hi Bren, it was all working perfectly, just suddenly changed last week, its always the first part (short description) and the last order had gone down to 4 characters

But payments from Ebay to same account are appearing correctly (typical 2 weeks before xmas)

That's pretty bad Viv. Since Eric hasn't chimed in with a super way to fix this, I'm still thinking it could be a Paypal issue, or maybe an Inventory issue?? I don't use inventory as I have another program to do that, so I'm not sure if it would cause any change in the way it's handled on the way to the checkout.

I am gritting my teeth, and hoping, only a few internet shopping days till xmas, I think I can work out whats sold by cross referencing the inbuilt sale details, with the other Paypal details i get

Just need another half a dozen or so sales, to pay for my wifes Christmas pressie, if not its out with the credit card on Tuesday when I pick it up.

Don't the SKU numbers show up in the details? Wouldn't that fix the issue of not knowing which one it was at least? Might not fix it if there are options chosen though. I thought Scott had said the SKU numbers were going to be in the details, but I don't remember if they ever did get added. If not.. try adding an ID number in the Description as the beginning of the description if this issue doesn't fix itself, temporarily that is until you figure out what happened. That might at least get you to know exactly what items are sold without guessing too much

Well the SKU does show on my recent orders Jo Ann, but so does the full short description, so that may not help Viv.

You could always staple another piercing to your forehead Viv. That should cheer her up.

All the options are working, five roughly on each listing, its just the short (important ) description thats failing
