Me again. :)

I went to set up the Paypal Identity Token, and Paypal tells me I need to do this:

In accordance with the User Agreement, you must provide written information on the page displayed by the Return URL that will help the buyer understand that the payment has been made and that the transaction has been completed.
You must provide written information on the page displayed by the Return URL that explains that payment transaction details will be emailed to the buyer.
Example: Thank you for your payment. Your transaction has been completed, and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. You may log into your account at www.paypal.com to view details of this transaction.

How do I do this return page message, or is the Identity Token even a necessary step? If it is, do others just return to their home page?

PayPal charged me .30 USD every time I tested this thing so I want to get my monies worth.

This is what I put in mine

http://arkansas-solar.com/solar-store/checkoutpps.php

And PayPal sents the customer back to that page on your website created by SCCP after the sale. The page says this..

---------------quote---------------
Thank you for your payment. Your transaction has been completed, and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. You may log into your account at www.paypal.com to view details of this transaction.

Amount: USD 12.20
Transaction ID: 9Y895564G835213

Thank you for your business!
Done - Return to the Shop
---------------end quote---------------

However being I using a windows server it will not take the item out of inventeory so I have to do that part by hand,

Other wize it looks and works great.

Thank you for your help.

How do I go about putting this page in without it being one of the pages available in the drop down menu of the website?

Also, is this process necessary? I've published my site without it.

Not any more you don't. I called them and fought with the automated answering machine for about 10 minutes till I got a REAL PERSON. And was really mad by the time I got to her. I was a jerk and she was nice about it all. She said it was in the last policy up date about a week ago. I remember the notice was emailed to me and like normal I did not read it.

We now pay transaction fees just like with all other merchant accounts if we refund the payment or not. I am about to switch from QuickBooks Merchant services because them crooks charge a .35 cents transaction fee both ways and will not refund the 3.54% credit card fees they charge if you do a refund. Oh plus 20 dollars a month for because they are nice people. I almost forgot about the Yearly fee they charge just because they can.

PayPal is looking alike a great service. I left my last merchant service because they were ripping me off even more then QuickBooks.

CoffeeCup makes the page "checkoutpps.php" for you. Just put in the path to your webstore including subdirectory at the / put checkoutpps.php .

I believe it is necessary because it is in the agreement you made with PayPal to use the service.

I agree with you because in my other PayPal account which I setup years ago I have to log in to PayPal and approve the payment first. If I reject it don't cost me anything.

But in this new PayPal account I setup just for the new webstore that uses the PayPal key, PayPal complets the transaction. I don't have to do anything but transfer the money to my bank acount.

I will log in to both accounts and compaire them to see if ther is a setting I need change. But she did say there were changes. Who knows, it may only effect new accounts and the old ones are still the same.

If I put in the Paypal Identity Token, yes it is necessary for me to do the page, so I have published without using it. I have no return on at the moment, and no identity token so I hope my payments will still work without it.

Sorry to be really thick, but I'm a fairly new CC user and I have no idea where to find the checkout.php to put any information on it.

If someone could explain how to put my message in so that I can set up the Identity Token, I would really appreciate it. I have searched the PDF and the forum. Thanks! :)

I don't know about anyone else, but even on my private account if someone gives me money and doesn't use the personal settings and instead sends it for goods or services, I still get charged that 30 cents if I refund it to them. I spent 45 minutes between 4 different people on the phone, costing them much more than 30 cents to get the last one back because my friend sent me money and didn't realize there even was a personal tab for personal money sending so he sent it as goods. I refunded of course because I'm not paying them $1.11 for a personal transaction and so I had my friend resend it the right way. They charged me that stupid 30 cents when I refunded it and trust me it cost them a lot more in customer support time, phone time, wages etc. to refund it than it was worth to them lol. Truly a ridiculous system in my eyes when they default a private account to the business tab.
