Passing Shipping method to PayPal -...

We use weight based shipping for our products and have 4 defined shipping methods and each of these 4 has 4 defined tiers (locations). One of which has no shipping charges defined (i.e. hand delivery of the items). We use PayPal exclusively for payment processing. In the store both shipping method and shipping destination initially appear as "choose one".

Two questions?

"Choose one" is your insertion, not ours. Is there a way to default to one of our methods and destinations? You enforce the selection of one of these fields but...

It appears that when a customer selects some combination of product/shipping that results in no shipping charge that the information on which method and destination were selected does not get passed to PayPal at least we are not seeing it.

I have attached one such purchase notification received from PayPal. As you can see there are no shipping charges (it is for hand delivery) but there is no indication as to which of our options had been selected (since you enforce them they must have been selected).

Are we doing something wrong? There are at least two fields here on this form "Instructions to merchant" and "Shipping details" where it would seem that this information should show up.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
