Is there a limit as to the number of pages a shopping cart can contain?

You can add up to 5 additional custom pages with the software Dave.

Scott,

I am looking at purchasing SCCP and SCDP for a client's online store and the number of pages will become important because that impacts the amount of content I can display, so excuse me if it looks like I'm beating a dead horse.

What do you mean by 'up to 5 additional custom pages'? I'm specifically thinking in terms of the content in her store and I don't know what, in CCS terminology, equates to a 'page', which means I have no idea what 'up to 5 additional custom pages' equates to.

The 5 additional pages would be custom pages with html coding inserted into them to render the proper look. These custom pages typically have things like contact form warranty info and return policy.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I think he's asking more about a limit on the number of items for sale as opposed to pages. I could be wrong though..

If it's number of pages based on products for sale then that's really not directly under your control. You can have up to 3000 products and 300 categories in your shop. The number of pages will be determined by the number of categories and the number of products but the program takes care of all the pages in the background.:)

The 5 additional pages that Scott is talking about are pages such as if you wanted to add a Contact Us page, and maybe a page for Newly Added, or a Support page, or any number of other types of pages you want on your site. These pages have nothing to do with the actual products you are adding to the site (in other words they don't connect directly to the products themselves unless you add links and images to them manually). These pages would basically be your main website pages.

The rest would fall under what Eric mentioned above, products themselves create their pages automatically and are not part of that 5 page limit. Hope that helps.

Hmmm, I think that may have been what the origional poster was asking, but now I have a question. :-}

Can a product belong to multiple categories?

For example if I was making a site to sell jewelery, could a silver earing be in both the 'Silver Jewelery', and the 'Earing' categories?

Or just ignore me, I'm half blind and delerious, wandering around hunting for eggs, just thought I'd stop back and see if his issue was answered....

Hmmm, and what's with the multiple of 3 limiits, 300 categories, 3000 products, saw a post about 30 items per order deeper in the forum?

Binary multiples in programs I get, especially tied to floating point limits etc, but 3 just seems odd.
