Is there a way to lock a category for a targeted audience? The idea is like a preferred customer group.
More fundamentally, is it possible to invoke a javascript popup for a specific product?

I'm sure it can be done. Probably the best thing to do is to use iframes so that you don't have to keep redoing alterations done to the code.
