I'm expecting my new computer in a few days. I don't have my transfer cable and software with me so coping files to the new computer will be interesting and time consuming. One positive note, I'll get rid of a lots of files. Am I allowed to download my CC software on the new computer while it's on the old computer? I have my carts on a flash drive.
Thank you

You can install all of your purchases on up to 3 computers you own and use, so that is not a problem at all. ;)

My new computer is up and running for about a week. Rather than use the file transfer cable and software I bought I decided to use a 10 GB flash drive, slow but less junk files collected over years, computers. I own a good percent of the Coffee Cup software, however, I'm only downloading as I use them. So much for this senior to keep straight, good workout for the old gray matter.

It looks like my carts are alive and well on the new computer, now to try an update and upload.

To be continued.

Flash drives are amazing. Especially since my first PC hard drive was only 420MB. :)

I can't wait for SSD to get cheaper.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

I paid $1,000.00 for an external 20 MB hard drive in the mid 80s. I had to connect it via a ribbon connector to my Compaq "lunch box" 30 pound so-called portable computer.

Fast forward about 25 years. I paid $599.00 for my new notebook with more software and ports/ devises then I'll figure out in a very long time. Even has a web cam which I turned on and scared myself.

I know huh?!? We paid ridiculous amounts of money for our crappy tech back then... I know my parent's flipped when I payed $300 for my brand new 1200 baud Modem :D And really thought I'd put them in the ground when I spent almost as much on a new IBM Compatible as I did my first truck ! I must say though, I do miss piece mealing everything together, and working with my tech-no-geek buddy's to make it work. I remember hooking up a platter drive from a VAX system to my Commodore 128, then spending countless hours with one friend who "modified" the OS to accept it. I also remember the BBS systems that we used to run that would 'chain' together in relay calls throughout the night and dump messages between them in a circuit until they made a full 'round-robin' and everyone was up to date... I thought we were "Big Time" when I was helping run a few BBS's (my own included) that had multiple lines on it. Now I look back and laugh at what we did back then.
