Inserting a .swf file into product...
OK
Next challenge, to get around the use of a mailto: command and the risk of spambots reading it.....
I am trying to embed a simple .swf file which has the smae command within the flash file.
2 questions here...
Is that invisible to spambots?
I can't get the .swf file to appear within the product description using the "html" code insert.
I am simply taking the published .html file from the flash file and using the details, but it doesn't want to work.
Any ideas oh clever ones.......?

Hiya Chisty,
I'm not altogether sure that .swf files will work in the SCC programs even. But why not just create an image with your contact details on it. That way it is entirely spam proof and yet still visible for your users to have access to it. Click-able email links are not only highly overrated, but also very useless to quite a large population of internet users that only use web-mail which the links don't work for. Just as easy to create an image and let them just type it in themselves.

Hi Jo.
Thanks for your input.
My last website was entirely flash created, and I had flash e-mail links within it. The number of e-mails generated from people clicking on those links easily outweighed the number of unique e-mails I got. I could easily monitor the difference simply based on the fact, my flash button generated a subject field.
I could have a simple .jpg with info but then people can't copy and paste. The easier you make contact, the higher the contact rate. If you start putting up hurdles then you will start to lose enquiries.
Does anyone know for sure if .swf won't work within SCC
If not my only options will be either a form which again starts putting up hurdles or just put a live mailto: link which will drive spam.!!!!
Any suggestions most welcome

You can embed an object (swf) into SCC using html tags.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Hooray success.
I was trying to do it with flash version 8, but have got it to work , publishing the flash file in flash version 5
I have tested it in IE and firefox and it works in both.
I will have to mess about a bit to try and get a better anti-alias font to work but as least it has solved my problem thus far.

The following code is what I used to get a flash ad insert on my Products page.
[[[<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" WIDTH="500" HEIGHT="350" id="OurProducts"><PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="E:\WebPage\firstpage.swf"><PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high><PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FFFFFF><EMBED href="E:\WebPage\myFlashMovie.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH="500" HEIGHT="350" NAME="OurProducts" ALIGN="" TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></EMBED></OBJECT><p><br />]]]
Worked perfectly the first time. How about that, something worked for me the first time!!!
Except everything I have put on my pages manually in the page description box; pictures, swf, etc., will not show up in Fire Fox or Safari. Have not tried Chrome. Very frustrating. As soon as I get a host chosen on Monday I hope to get it up so someone might be able to tell me what is wrong.
